Exodus 20:4 " thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,OR ANY LIKENESS OF ANY THING THAT IS IN HEAVEN ABOVE, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under earth."

I wonder why they worship idols? its like they have one for every day of the week and every situation. Ive seen one of those darn little idols that gives you luck when you sell your house. This sounds familiar remember when jesus turned over the tables in the jewish temple

Ive been to a catholic church before and those little idols arent free. Its funny to they even pray to the little pieces of wood or plastic like they hear them

Jesus was alive before he was born on earth so to say mary is still his mother after he was resurected is giving her too much credit. When we all die there is no mother only one Father. the family we have here is only temporary when we go to heaven of wherever you chose the families we have here will no longer exist.The only family that matters is the one we have in Christ

Luke 21:34,35 and Jesus said unto them," the children of this world marry , and are given in marriage. But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world , and the ressurection from the dead, neither marry, or are given in marriage.

Too bad the muslims dont know this. I guess no virgins waiting in heaven for those suicide bombers

If people say there was a higher regard for mary along time ago. wanna know why? because the church killed all those who opposed them. If you ever read the history of the church and of some the popes you will know what im talking about.Who bowed down to Hitler and didnt stand up to him during ww2. when push comes to shove the church will always bow down to whoever is more powerfull.they will even protect child molesters. their record speaks for themselves. If you want proof jesus was alive before he was born i know that scripture too. If you want me to prove mary isnt the mother of God or Jesus. its like saying mary was born before jesus.she was born physically before him thats obvious. And she was his earthly mother. But to say mary was with jesus during the creation.

In the begining was the Word and the word wasnt mary

It's strange you judge all catholics as non christians when Jesus taught 'Judge not lest ye be judged'.. given that you have not followed his teachings.. that makes you a non christian.

Haha, being dyslexic, when I first read the subject I thought it said Martians.

It is possible that the practice of Mary worship evolved from the Catholic churches attempt at destroying pagan practices by incorporating them in their own practices. Or by converted pagans continuing their worship practices in their new religion.

Either way not all Catholics are Mary worshipers. As in everything else in the world, there are varying degree of passion, beliefs and actions. Generalizations will never accurately descibe anything of depth.

The RCC follows much RCC tradition , some of which is different then the bible

General logic says that Christians are ones who keep Christs word first.

So if only ' technically, catholics are catholics, a sect of christianity (only because the word came before the church tradition).

At the wedding of Cana, the Holy Spirit revealed to us the power of Mary's intercessions before God.
When Mary told Jesus ,''They have no wine,'' He replied,
''My time has not yet come''.
Nevertheless, He worked the miracle and turned the water into wine.
When Mary asked Jesus for help , He told her that the time had not yet come for Him to work such a miracle but because she asked , the order of God's plan was changed.
Christ worked the miracle 'out of it's time'' because of Mary's intercession.
Would not our prayers if they were like the Mary Theotokos have the same effect if we would aquire a purity , faith and obedience more like hers?
So as we ask for the Theotokos to pray for us.......she intercedes on our behalf because of our sinful nature....how else can we sinners view ''the Blessed Mother of God''.....even the Angels called Her blessed......
And to think we are not sinful is to go against what Christ said.
And as the New Testament says.....Read 1 TIMOTHY ch.2

wow that is a skewed interpitation of the wedding at Cana.

Yes, Mary was blessed by God by being allowed to carry Jesus in her womb for 9 months. In a way she became another deciple. One of the things you should remember is in weddings of those days you typically brought some wine to share (BYOB, or BYOW) it seems jesus and his dispiles just arrived in the area and were invited at the last minute. Jesus's response to Mary was a rather distant way to address his mother, litterally "what [is there] to me and to you" ( see Judges 11:12; 2 same 16:10; 1 Kings 17:18; 2 Kings 3:13; 2 Chron 35:21 and in NT Mt 8:29; Mk 1:24; 5:7; Lk 8:28) and reveals that his time to be revealed to all has not come yet. the only people to witness this miricle were Mark, the disiples, and mabye some servents, the other wedding guests never knew where the wine came from (they jsut knew it was real good). And in the wrap up to the scene (John 2:11) it shows that the disiples put thier faith in Jesus.. which is a rather open statement.

mary knows who Jesus really is, and stated a problem, and Belived very strongly Jesus could deal with it correctly, but left it opened ended, Jesus coudl still do nothing, but decided to have a private revealing of his glory to a select few.
