NECROBIOSIS

Topic started on 3-8-2003 @ 04:55 PM by pixilair

Necrobiosis is a rare skin disorder that kills blood cells. This then produces cigar burn shapes on the skin that look similar to ringworm, although these are smooth raised circles rather than surface rashes.
It is normally found on the legs but can appear on any part of the body.
Anyone can get it, although it seems to be more common with diabetics who are insulin dependent.
It is also more common in females than males.
Apparently there is no cure for it, and they don't even know exactly what it is and why it happens.

If anyone can enlighten me further on this ailment, I would appreaciate it very much.
