In relation to previous threads about high speed anti-ship missiles, I was wondering if there is any information about using scramjet motors on two stage missiles?

One stage, using a conventional rocket missile motor would deliver the second stage missile to an altitude from which the scramjet motor could deliver the warhead, striking down, at hypersonic speeds? Any work being done in this area?
