A new Illinois state law has been passed which says that if a person changes his or her mind during sex, the other has to immediately stop or there will be rape charges.

Dan Rutherford, an Illinois State Senator, says the bill was inspired by a case in California where two teenagers were having sex. The girl changed her mind and said no but the boy would not stop. Eventually, he was brought up on rape charges.

Senator Rutherford notes that it took years for Californian courts to interpret statutes which upheld the boy's rape conviction. He says that this new Illinois law will make things clearer if this becomes an issue in his state.

How will the girl be able to claim she just 'changed her mind' in the first place?

We may hear the answer to this in the Kobe Bryant case soon enough!

sounds like just what may have happened........

I think the real question that begs answer is...

WHO in the hell is going to change their mind in the MIDDLE of "the act"??
(I forget, are we still supposed to watch the 's' word?)
I mean, c'mon. That's like stopping in the middle of a slice of cheesecake and deciding you didn't want it to begin with.

(up waaaaaay too late.)

This doesn't really help the guy, when the woman changes her mind 12 days later after they've done it and claims she was raped.

Which happens often, all the time...EVERY DAY, and nothign is done about it.

Soon you'll have to carry a small recorder to record sex just so you can prove that you stopped after your girl said no. Heh..

Its all getting pretty confusing for us stupid blokes out here. I remember one time stopping 'on the job' when a girl said 'no' and she asked me why the hell I'd stopped. I told her because she said 'no' and and she then told me she didn't me no in that way.

So how are we supposed to know when 'no' means 'no'?

Married now, so no longer an issue for me.
Hard enough trying to get the wife to say yes in the first place

Ok, this is great! Think about it! You doing the horizontal ramba and just after ou get done, say you just lit up your ciggarette, she says no. Is it rape?

Or in the Kobe case, if she says no several days later when he isn't even in the same room, is it rape?

This is very tricky... Loads of girls make up stuff like that, but then again, you do get the ones that have actually been raped and they have to go through such an ordeal to try and prove it.

Perhaps they would just try and forget it and get on with their lives...

Tricky really.
