Translated postings from hundreds of radical Islamic web sites are being cited as evidence to prove that insurgent "martyrs" consist largely of foreigners from neighboring countries to Iraq, and that the greater majority are Saudi nationals. A U.S. State Department report has described these websites as "a melting pot for jihadists from around the world, a training group and an indoctrination center".

Hundreds of similar accounts of suicide bombers are featured on the rapidly proliferating array of Web sites run by radical Islamists, online celebrations of death that offer a wealth of information about an otherwise shadowy foe at a time when U.S. military officials say that foreign fighters constitute a growing and particularly deadly percentage of the Iraqi insurgency.
[...]
Who are the suicide bombers of Iraq? By the radicals' account, they are an internationalist brigade of Arabs, with the largest share in the online lists from Saudi Arabia and a significant minority from other countries on Iraq's borders, such as Syria and Kuwait. The roster of the dead on just one extremist Web site reviewed by The Washington Post runs to nearly 250 names, ranging from a 13-year-old Syrian boy said to have died fighting the Americans in Fallujah to the reigning kung fu champion of Jordan, who sneaked off to wage war by telling his family he was going to a tournament.
[...]
Many of the Arabs, according to the postings, were drawn to fight in Iraq under the banner of al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, the group run by Jordanian militant Abu Musab Zarqawi that has taken credit for a gruesome series of beheadings, kidnappings and suicide attacks -- many of them filmed and then disseminated on the Internet in a convergence between the electronic jihad and the real-life war.

One has to be careful when profiling people in this manner. Many of the posts by bloggersin the West, indeed even on ATS, could be easily be construed as the precursor to violent acts if the wrong perspective were taken. While these Islamic websites can be used as another tool for information gathering and surface-level intelligence, they cannot be cited as clear-cut evidence of very much at all, and much of the content may indeed be disinformation.

Um, slight problem. These Islamic sites aren't talking about potential martyrs and acts to be done, they're bragging about "martyrs" from acts already committed.

You don't just accidentally come across that level of intel. It's given to you. You've *got* to be close to the source. And if you're close to that sort of source, as a decent human being you have an obligation to do something to stop it. It's on par with getting details and videos being given to you from a rapist. You can post them up on your "blog", or you can call the cops.

Islam is poisoned more and more as days pass. This whole "it's only a few extremists" doesn't hold water among groups like the so-called "militias", nor does it work against "peaceful" white supremacists, Jews-or the entire US government and military. Any hostile or undesirable act by anyone loosely associated with them earns the whole group harassment, vilification and arrest. It is up to them to police themselves. Why should Islam be any different? If they cannot, or (as it appears more and more) will not police themselves and get rid of this so called 'extremist" element, then in the interest of self preservation, the rest of the world will be forced to do the work for them, and there's no way we're going to be able to tell the difference.

Time to put up or shut up, Muslim world. You can't sit there and blame all Americans, going around killing innocents because of the acts of a few, and then scream and protest that the world is treating you exactly the same. Clean up your own house, because if it gets so bad it's a public health nuisance, then you have no right to complain if we throw everything out just to get the filth.
