What is this I am starting to hear about the FED. planning to close all state armorys?

Is there any truth to this?

Reasons include "Budgetary Cutbacks"

Has anyone else heard anyting about this?

More and more are unused and empty. In the past, the government has just left them abandonded, but ready for later possible use. Closing them would be going against why they were emplaced in the get go. It is still government property, and until the land is for sale don't believe otherwise.

I can't stand all these budget cuts. According to CNN thousands of jobs would be lost (particuarly civilian contracter) across the US. Interestingly enough CNN reports that relocations could give the state of Texas nearly 9,000 jobs.

Such a shame that the Petagon can't get a decent budget. The politicians make the need for a higher budget but won't give the money. Of course the Pentagon might not be in this whole if we weren't throwing away money in Iraq.
