GOP or Dem: The Party of Depravity?

It's a mystery to me: it does not take more than scant minutes to uncover news of repeated moral transgressions by Republican officials. Yet, Democrats do not use the type of ammo that would surly be used on them, should the roles be reversed?

Why?

The only conclusion I come up with these days = Democrats are completely & utterly complicit.

I mean, when they try to expose the dems/liberals/left wing I come to defend, yet when people actually expose the republicans for what they are, no republican to be seen in a 50 mile radius? Please, lets try to understand that neither side is perfect and we both have our strengths and weaknesses. We need to focus on those and stop hitting eachother with a bat. There are freaks in every walk of life. Religon, politics, education, medicine, any field you choose you could dig up the same facts on them that you dug up for the Reps. Im not saying you have to accept them. Just be tolerant.

With all due respect, because the vast majority that can only see two hues paints me in the Liberal camp, and I'll gladly side with the anti-Republican team every time. It's been co-opted to mean something negative, but I don't see it that way.

I didnt say you had to like them, or even accept them. What I said was 'tolerate them' and move on with your life. Look, I am only saying this because I know from experience that you cannot possibly have any better outcome than a draw when debating with Neocons and republicans in general. Yes, they use tactics and phrases that we as Liberals try and refrain from using. But that is what makes us Liberals and Moderates. We will not stoop to that level unless we have no other alternative. Why should we act like them when we are not them? Like I said, you dont have to like them, just tolerate them.

We (both sides) know that there are skeletons in every single closet in Washington. That is nothing new and it will continue as long as America remains. It does nothing but stir up more crap if we keep saying:

'LOOK! LOOK WHAT I FOUND! I TOLD YOU THEY SUCKED!'

Instead, we need to admit that both our parties need to take a long look inward and then move on from there. We will never regain the past Glory of America if we cant all start getting along.

One word of advice. Please take this to heart. I had to learn it the hard way. If you see a thread where someone is trying to bait you, then just dont reply. If you just have to reply, then try not to stir the pot. Simply say:

'You are wrong and here is why......'

If they are NOT wrong, then admit it and go on. It is not like they are going to come kick you butt or anything.

So whats it going to be? Macaroni pictures or a little tolerance and grace that we should be acting with accordingly?

......it's untenable in application as a catch all philosophy because, as with any broadly applied paradigm, it is spot on covering some issues & woefully short changing others.
You can have debates in your social circles under this philosophy and be successful; hell, it's just being a resonable adult.
The area I'm focusing on, however, is politics as practiced by elected officials. It's an amalgam of public theater & line voting group think - the venue to which the paradigm not only does not apply, but has failed miserably.
The repeated appealing to the lowest common denominator has put the Republicans in power and enabled the gerrymandering that will keep them there.
All the while, Opposition elected officials are looking for a reasonable debate on the issues. As if that's possible with someone stepping on your throat. Hence, the above weapons anology.
Personally, this board stuff is a catharsis; it in no way is a verbatim extension to the way I conduct myself in 3D. I make my livlihood by selling my comapny's services to Corporate America, where many were raised like me - with the perception that the GOP = Business, and that you need not look at details, just vote party lines consistently.
Politics and religion are rarely discussed, if ever. The times that I have encountered it, however, have been declarations of dumbfounded amazement as to how Dim Son got to be 'the man'.
