How come moderators don't participate in the threads very often? I mean, I understand that you have to step back a little and let the forum be driven by the members, but it seems like whenever there's a new round of people selected as mods, we lose our best members and the 'flavor' they gave the place.

Isn't there some way we can get the benefits of your moderating skills without losing the benefits of your input?

I can only speak for myself. I try to post as often as I can. In fact, I find I post more often than I used to in PTS, as I look over three forums there.

As a new mod, it also has taken me awhile to get into an efficient groove for modding and posting.

We all develop different modding styles and sometimes we may have less time for the areas we used to frequent.

Sometimes it's that we're very very busy moderating and can't follow threads as we used to.

In my case, I'm aware of the impact of my position and too much of an argument might come across as "board rules" rather than "Byrd's opinion." I generally allow myself 2-3 replies and then bow out.

Most mods post quite a bit on the boards just maybe not as often as us.
Even a few S/Mods post quite often!

I think that they sow slightly when they first become a mod but after a couple of weeks once their used to it they start posting again!

That's what I see, a general reluctance by moderators to get into discussions because of their position. You all have the longest histories and interesting opinions though, and I think the forum is missing out on that. It would be nice if there was a way to take off your moderator hats occasionally.

Personally I do that all the time. But nobody will get me to take off my mod thong.

Comming up on 17 years.

Man, the time does fly.

I just thought of something, I can post damn near anything without going off topic.

Er? I know I don't get to participate as much, but I still participate quite a bit.

Be strong. I shall post more for you, my people!

Actually, if membership wants modship to be more involved, and mod's time are taken up getting everyone to 'play nice', then membership can make it easier on mods by playing nice!

Not to direct it at you tho.

Well thanks guys, nice to see your thoughts on it. I guess there are some that do and some that don't. I just wanted to let you know that some of us would welcome it if you did post more, I don't think would intimidate other posters. Then again, you're all so big and strong...

Why was dragonrider banned?
Anyways, I think mods still post a lot.
I am glad they do, except when they have a different opinion than me of course.

Man, I really wouldn't go there... Search for threads on it if truly interested, this was a LONG time ago...and it was justified. Drama alert, not what this thread is about, so just a word that further mentions of it will result in the thread being locked, I'm sure.
