I am not intending for this thread to be inflammatory but I have started wondering. When I was a young boy, growing up in the States (I now live in Canada) I used to know an old codger. You know the type, one of those guys who served in WWII or Korea, drinks his can of beer in one gulp and has an opinon on everything. Well this old codger neighbor of mine used to tell us kids (as we were the only ones who would probably listen) that if a "commie" ever got into the White House, he'd grab his gun and take to the streets. But that wasn't all. This guy would take it to Capital Hill if they ever tried to take his gun away, or if they tried to take his home or "castle" away, or if they issued Identity Cards for everyone in the US. It seems that there is always an issue or something worthy of grabbing the old M1 and a case of MRE's and heading off into the hill"s to become a guerilla fighter for freedom, the constitution and the "American Way". What would it take for you to become a rebel, freedom fighter, or militant anarchist (note; I did not say terrorist). What's your line in the sand?

I asked this question here once... www.abovetopsecret.com...
Didn't get alot of responses though. There was another thread on here somewhere, revolution watch or something to that effect which was a good discussion.

My line in the sand was crossed long ago. All it would take for me to join, is for someone to start the war. We need enough people willing to go against the government. Until then, it's just suicide.

agreed. however, any rebellion must be a populist one, that is, be supported by the majority. Until I and other revolutionary socialists can convince the majority of the need for revolution, a revolution will not be democratic, and so useless .

I believe there are enough people who know that the gov't has overstepped their boundaries and become corrupt beyond repair. There is just no organization on a massive scale yet. People don't feel threatened enough yet. Or, like the rest of us, they just don't know how to start the ball rolling, without turning into another Waco incident.

There are many things that would cross my line in the sand. Forcing america to have one mandatory religion would do it for me. my christian faith is personal to me and i dont want anyone enfringing on my rights. i think EVERYONE deserves to worship or not worship however they wish.

Also if there was a mandatory number of children one was allowed to have like in china. I understand that there is a population problem and all but i mean gosh...to kill the kid if you have more than you are supposed to ....forget that. As a teenage girl looking forward to someday being a mother..that would piss me the f off.

Oh and if they dont do something about controlling our borders pretty soon here..im gonna get even more pissed.

other than that all i can think of is if they made Japanese/Chinese food illegal or something. NOW THAT IS SOMETHING I CANNOT TOLERATE

Kind Regards,
Digital Grl

LOL, Digitalgirl that cracked me up! as i was raised on country food, meat and potatoes,Okra, cornbread, etc. I do love japanese and chinese food, especially that delicasy Sushi. lol

My line has been crossed by the current administration. I do not however support Socialism or any other commie ideology, why replace one big government with another? I just want it back to the good old days when states ruled themselves.

My line that was crossed is the constant influx of people from our Southern border with Mexico. In a post 911 United States, it is sheer lunacy that we have left this large door opened while our attention of this problem goes relitively unoticed. I feel that this one single issue has done much harm to the U.S. and has put a massive strain on the resources of the affected states not to mention that the Fed. has been throwing money at it to help. There has to be some logicial reason why our current administration is just turning it's eyes elsewhere why we are being invaded from the South. What has Bush and Mexican pres. Fox agreed to?

Though I do not agree with Mao Tse Tung's (later adapted by Che) quote which in effect said "The rifle equals power..." - I do however think that a struggle (violent or not) needs to take place in order to install a new form of 'government' democratically run by the people for the people ... ie Socialism and eventually pure Communism...

And I do not think that a Guerilla style stuggle is the only way - Ultimately it comes down to the people, for it is they we are fighting for... We as the revolutionaries of the 21st Century must play the vangard role of the revolution - we must drive the way forward, we must point towards a better world, we must open the eyes of the blind and fight today so that others do not have to in harder days to come...

While I agree my line in the sand was crossed years ago - I have made the decision to join the war that is taking place all around the world - A WAR OF IDEAS is going on everywhere around you, every corporate news paper, every bill-board, every corrupt politicians - THESE ARE OUR ENEMIES - These are what we must destroy at their fundamental level - Their biased and oneside ideas... Our ideas are our biggest weapon to possibly employ - for a good solid argument for social justice cannot be disected and mis-constrewed... This is the true mark of genius, this is the true mark of a revolutionary - Our superior logic is what will win the war...

- VIVA LA REVOLUCION ! -

Well Ghosty-soldier, I would not support a Socialist/Communist government, because they always fail at trying to be everything to everyone. You can't have a government thats Momma, Suger-Daddy, Uncle and Baby-sitter...it won't be supported by the conservatives in America.

FLYIN HIGH made a good point and thats one of the situations that will be our governments downfall. Another flash point that would set me off is:

1) If the Police in all the big cities walk off the job because the Liberal assault on the thin-blue-line....making the Gang-bangers into victims and the cops as "bad-guys" Its too much and what happens when the cops don't even chase bank-robbers anymore because their worried about being sued by the ACLU?

What will happen is we Christians will take the law into our own hands and God Help the Gang Bangers....and the ACLU.

2) If the ACLU finally succeeds in having Talk-Radio outlawed as a "Hate-Crime"......Dennis Prager, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of conservative talk radio shows are the last stand against the Government-Media LIARS who feeds us Gallons of lies with spoonfuls of truth mixed in.....if Talk-Radio outlawed, it will send conservatives into action.

3) Christianity is outlawed.

So whats my line in the sand.

This is mine:

This is how far the government has crossed:

Need I say more.

Like most of you my line was crossed a very long time ago, but with the patriot act, along with the border problem, as well as pregnant women being assaulted with "non-lethal" weapons...i'm ready to do something to take out country back, just can't do it alone and there is no organized group ready to overthrow our government at this time.
Our constitution is being taken piece by piece away from the people it was written to protect. That is enough for me.
If anyone comes up with, or starts a group, please let me know.
As for the foriegn foods, um i'm partial to cornbread and chicken too..lol
But taken even those things away pisses me off to. I have friends that like sushi.
I wish we had an elite group that could take out govenment personel around the globe that did wrong. Hey alot of folks would think harder on issues at hand and laws being passed if they knew thier ass was on the line to be assasinated by a group of "we the people"

I dont know what to do. Its easy to talk about a line in the sand and revolt but its hard for such talk to become more then just talk. We can all agree that things are becoming intolerable, but we are far from a coalition. We all have our grievances but theyre no where being the same. Some of us would support socialism some wouldnt some would support abolitioning gay marriage some wouldnt. Any revolt would only destroy america for good because the moment our common enemy is destroyed we would only turn against each other.

By the way my line in the sand is when they come for me my kind and my friends and family. Till then Ill just be preparing for the worst.

Glad you found some humor in my comment TRUSTNONE.

Anyway,

Yeah the border problem is pretty much what is pissing me off right now. and it doesnt seem like any presidant we have had in the last decade has really tried to do anything about it..democrat or republican. while i voted for bush ( im 19 and finally got to vote
) I must say that i am VERY disappointed with him not making this a priority. I mean we are in the war on terror..he is always talking about it..and he is leaving americas door wide open...doesnt make sense. And i dont think kerrry would have done anything about it either. i say we hand it over to arnold...he is at least talking about it.

Kind Regards,

The Government doesn't want to solve the problem... They'd prefer to keep placing them in gaol (jail), using them as scape-goats etc etc... Its not in the interests of the American Government (Corporate Super-Giants) to do so...

As for you comment on "we are in a war on terror" ... I think this needs to be re-worded to sound like (We are terrorising 2/3rds of the world with our greedy money/resource driven war!)

They want the illegal aliens coming it - its a scape-goat they can use when something bad happens like; another bombing, not enough jobs, high-taxes etc etc...

And as for voting for Bush (in for a 2nd Term) how could you be sooo dumb! - Bush, Kerry and even Arnold are not going to do anything about this problem for a long time - They will talk big (to get voted in again) and then nothing will get done...

Such is America...

Ok first of all..there is no reason to call me dumb simply because i voted for someone that you dont like. 2nd of all there was no way i was gonna vote for kerry. as far as im concerned we didnt have very good candidates to choose from on either side.

Understandably the US system leaves much to be desired - I didn't mean to offend you - but if I may ask a question...

Can someone explain to me how the American 2-Party system works - And how this can be called democracy?

What was stopping you from say, voting for the Greens?

Like no offense or anything, I just seriously dont understand the American 2-Party system at all...

No offense taken,

i didnt vote for the greens because while i support the environment i disagree with other policies that they have. In my opinon when i was voting, I picked the one that i agreed with the most out of the candidates that i had to choose from.

I'm pretty much ready now, but I'm preparing for it. This government is crap through and through.

Taxes are way way too high, waste is obsene beyond most people's imagination, socialist programs are riff, our people are lazy thinkers, the media is garbage, priorities are shot, there is no family structure therefore no community, and capitalism is gone.

I'm not very optimistic that we'll last till I die.
