I was watching tv and they have bad language and other things on Cartoonnetwork. Like Bugs Bunny was drinkings beer and smoking, On static Shock he said "Sucks", when they showed Osmosis Johnes the dad in that movie he said "damn". I really cant believe that the network would show that. I have a 9 year old friend he nows all the swear words and know what gay, lesbian and sex is. He learns this from his friends. I wonder where his friends learn this Tv and family. what is your guys' opinion is.

Turner's KartoonNetWerk brainchild is the real under the radar propaganda machine Westerning the third world, teaching english to future immigrants and outsource workers and liberalizing the next generation at home.

Why nobody else gets that and spends all their time complaining about something meaningless like news network "propaganda" for fully formed adults is beyond this liberal's comprehension.

Now if you'll excuse me, Captain Planet and I must rally the world's socialist tapestry to take pollution down to zero.

Oh, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Attacking "SpongeBob" just makes people look rather foolish.

Muahahaha...

Adult Swim is TV14, as it says, and has a warning on before the shows. ALso, WTF? BoonDock Saints is a Rated R- Rated NC-17 in America, in Japan it would be PG, if they used the same rating system. Perfect Blue would be NC-17 in America, but it is a saturday morning cartoon movie in Japan. Now, who has more violence? Who has more crime? AMERICA!

In France nudity is no big deal, at least breasts aren't. Yet in America the Republicans want Janet Jackson's head on a plate for showing a boob. Who has more freedom here people?(Man, wanna go to France and Japan, especially Japan, so cool!)

children will learn words you don't want them to, regardless of the scource.
they will see things you don't want them to see. You can't prevent it.

All you can do is teach them right from wrong, good judgement, self esteem, and that they can always tell you the truth.

Well, I read your siggy and I think you may have been given a sheltered upbringing. This is not an insult. This sort of thing has been going on for years, Fritz the Cat anyone. As for airing it through the day, damn, I'd let my kids watch that before I'd let them watch the news, or Judge Whatever or Jerry Springer. Well, might let them watch Springer as an example of what true idiocy looks like.

gothica....you're only 13 or 14 now...It's good that you are thinking about this and hopefully not allowing TV to influence you and your language

But people can't blame TV for thier choice of words. Yeah I believe that TV and movies have a huge impact on a childs growing up but so does fast-food, we can't blame fast food for some teen being a fat-body, now can we?

People including teens and 9 yr old (they're people too) have to suck it up and accept responsibility for themslves....if you don't like it then correct the kid and tell him he's wrong. If he chooses to go on being a potty mouth let him be, if his mom and dad have any sense they will catch him oneday and pop him a good one on the mouth.

GODDAMN! DAGNAMIT!
There are no "foul" words, only foul thoughts, foul actions and foul people.

You are really suffering mental illness if you are upset by words on television that don't make up sentence like "We are going to war" or "Every marijuana user should be taken out in the street and shot" (LAPD Chief Daryll Gates on the radio).

The desire is to destroy the country. Destroy morality, and the rest will crumble.
The assault upon the backbone of this nation has been an ongoing thing for several, several years. As the nation has become desensitized, they can go after the youngest of our society.

The clock is ticking; it's only a matter of time.

There was a show on FX for a while called Rescue Me, Dennis Leary played a fire fighter who would see spirits of people who had died in fires.

Anyway that show had me surprised from the content it had, his character did and talked about pretty much any sexual situation one could think of.

The only reason it surprised me though is that was on a national network and not a cable subscription channel

Intrepid, I really don't think that Fritz the cat, or the Fabulous Freak Brothers would be a good comparison, they weren't marketed directly to children. This is.

if you think about it the kids really arent learning it from tv.it mostly comes form school. and not from students, i remeber in 4th grade 2 of my teachers were talking about how sex feels like in front of the whole class. if teachers could do that why not shows like osmosis jones, static shock etc. say there foul language. you just have to make sure the child knows the differnce between good words and bad and then we wont have any problems. jsut my 2 cents

No matter how hard you try children will learn these words. Be it in cartoons, tv dramas, sit-coms, etc. they will inevitably hear them, see them, and use them.

I for one have never been into sensoring what my children have or haven't watched. I have allowed them to watch anything and everything, and have told them if there was something they didn't understand to come and talk to me. They have watched horror flicks, dramas, etc and to date we have never had a monster in the closet or nightmares. Why??? Because I have taken the time while watching the movie to tell them that it was simply a man in a custom entertaining us. I never did understand why everyone is so hung up on sex and bad words. Seems silly to me!

I seem to spend much of my time in countries where TV is not subject to censorship of everyday vernacular and people are not so hung up on words.

Is the prevailing attitude that regular portrayal of acts of aggression and violence is OK, as long as they are sanitized, i.e. free of four-letter "nasties"? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Uh, anyone seen South Park Bigger, Longer, and Uncut? The whole freaking war was over this! "You can have violence but no dirty words!" Yet no one learns this, this BS over words. Humbauhg(also spelled humbug, humbuhg, and humbugh) Use to be an evil, vile word. Back in the 19c it was what we call a F bomb.

I was flipping through the stations today and on "The View" which airs at 11 A.M. was talking about clitorises, ejaculations and orgasms today, again this is at ELEVEN AM, the show should be pulled off the air, they shouldn't be allowed to air that garbage on regular tv that early in the morning.

fighting bad language is like fighting the war on terror. it will never end because there will always be one perosn who will bomb somone just like there will always be a perosn thta drops the f-bomb

About the only thing I let my son watch is Bob the Builder DVDs. I look at it this way--if you don't like it, then don't watch it.

As far as the cussing thing...yeah your child may pick it up, but it's still good to be able to say they didn't learn it from you. I just wish people would watch their mouths around small children!
