Save The Dignity of the T.W.A.T.S Campaign

As the most recent WATS holder I am quite frankly disturbed by the fact that I am seeing a lot of people casting their votes this month for the General.

This is a desperate plea to all the women and sane men of ATS to save the dignity of both ATS and the award by not allowing this travesty to occur.

My suggestion to all of you is to immediately go to any of the ridiculously rampant threads started by General Dilemma and take the T.W.A.T.S away from him by casting a vote to the one most outspoken supporter and defender of us gals and cast a vote for CPR NOW!

Yes, that's right give the ChatBot a T.W.A.T.S. vote now, let the ATS world know that our little CPR is the true man. It's got to better than letting it fall into the hands of this farce of a military man!

Frankly, I don't think either the General or cpr should get it. Shouldn't the vote be rewarded for research, "denying ignorance", and encouraging critical thinking?

I know some people thought General's posts were funny, but deserving of a TWATS? I don't think so, maybe a WBTS.

Or perhaps I am just confused as to the true meaning of a WATS.

This highlights an interesting point, namely

Do we allow campaigning?

I vote no. T.W.A.T.S. is about good quality posting, that's why relentless and her predecessors have it. A joke is funny, but a webboard full of jokes isn't very awesome. Besides, you can get those for less than five bucks at any kids store. Costs less than cable!

Don't campaign. Don't cast votes for jokes. Don't cast votes because you agree.

Cast votes because it's a WAY above average post. You've got three votes a month, those votes should fall down on the three best posts you see. It could be a political arguement, it could be a scientific reckoning, or it could be a debunking, a good post is still a good post. It means even more if you don't agree with it, because you're stepping above to give someone something they are truly worthy of.
