The Palestinian-aid: What a joke!

The Palestinian-aid George promised in his State of the Union comes through in the form of $200 million none of which goes to the Palestinians and much of which goes to paying Israel.

In the emergency spending bill that lawmakers completed late Tuesday, the White House had sought $200 million "to support Palestinian political, economic, and security reforms," as the president said in his February State of the Union address. But the fine print of the document gives $50 million of that money directly to Israel to build terminals for people and goods at checkpoints surrounding Palestinian areas. Another $2 million for Palestinian health care will be provided to Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, while the allocation of the rest of the money is tightly prescribed.

Wait a second, the women's zionist organization of America receives $2 million of proposed Palestinian-aid? I wonder if Georgie boy during his state of the union was aware he had a "fiduciary obligation" not to throw money down a toilet. uh huh.. more PR manipulative lies..

The reason is that the Palastinian leadership have repeatedly shown over the years that they are corrupt.

At least if you give it to an outside agency it might actually get used for what its designed for.

There was a massive euro loan -$20mill?? that was given to the PA and none of it went to help the citizens, everything was kept by the leaders especially Arafat.

People who steal from their own citizens on such a massive scale have no ethics and can't be trusted.

But where is Yasser's widow supposed to get her shopping money from?

The PLO with Yassir as its chairman stole billions of $$$ from their own people. The PLO was one of the most lucratic organizations hoarding in Billions from the US, Europeans, Arab countries and humanitarian charities. Had that money been spent on the Palestinian people the refugee problem would have been solved and made the Palestinians themselves rich.

No wonder the world has problems trusting the PLO with money. The Palestinian people suffered far more by the PLO then they did by Israelis.

Exactly. The Palestinians have received far more per capita than any other refugee group in history, yet most of it has been lost to corruption. I think giving them the money directly would be tantamount to flushing it down the toilet, so any intermediate group helping to insure it's spent wisely is a good thing.
