The US death toll in Iraq just surpassed 1,600 as 7 more US service members were killed this weekend.

Guardian
Three of the U.S. victims were soldiers killed Sunday in bombings in central Iraq, the U.S. command said. One soldier was killed and a second was wounded during an attack on a patrol near Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad. Two others died in an explosion near Khaldiyah, 75 miles west of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

On Saturday, three U.S. Marines and a sailor were killed in fighting with insurgents in western Iraq, some of whom fought from inside a civilian hospital, the military said.

The coalition death toll has continued to hover at around two deaths per day for almost the entire length of this war and everytime it looks like it's going down, there are reports of new deaths.

I find it sad that anyone gets killed in Iraq, but before the invasion Saddam was killing thousands of people because they didnt agree with him. If you want a world free from people like him you have to make a stand and America has done that. Lets not let the Evil Dictators take over, ok some people have to die to stop Evil but thats the price we have to pay.
