He invented and patented a method of wireless electricty transmission before Ford's assembly line was blueprinted. He invented a method to protect cities from bombing, by simply zapping the electrical system of the aircraft. He could potentially deliver a ten megaton blast anywhere on the globe, via radio transmission. Impressive? well this is nothing compared to where his work may have been headed.

A couple years back when I read my first book on Nkolai Tesla, I was astounded to say the least, that he had never won a nobel prize, or any scientific recognition for that matter. Portrayed as a "mad scientist" who build death rays, and did crazy electrical experiments, he studied electo-magnetics, and invented brushless electro-magnetic motors. Tesla held many patents, that upon his death were taken, as well as much of his equipment, but the United States Government.

Through a series of financial troubles, and lawsuits, Tesla was ruined by his financier, J.P. Morgan. In one of his desperate letters tesla peads with Morgan for support.

quoting Nikolai Tesla, in a letter to J.P Morgan, 1937"The flying machine has completely demoralized the world, so much so that in cities, as London or Paris, people are in mortal fear from arial bombing. The new means I have PERFECTED affords absolute protection against this and other forms of attack...These new discoveries I have carried out experimentally on a limited scale, create a profound impression (emphasis added)"

And yet his funds were denied, why is this?

Tesla also invented a massive death ray, which some hypothesize caused the mysterious explosion in Tunguska. The main reason for this theory is that Tesla needed to demonstrate the power of his weapon, in one desperate cahnce to seek funding.

Teslasaid his transmitter (at wardenclyffe) could produce 100 million volts of pressure with currents up to 1000 amperes which is a power level of 100 billion watts. If it was resonating at a radio frequency of 2MHz, then the energy released in one period of its ocillation would be 100,000,000,000,000,000 joules of energym or roughly the amount of energy released by the explosion of 10 megatons of TNT.
Such a transmitter, would be capapble of projecting the energy of a nuclear warhead by radio. Any location in the world could be vaporized at the speed of light."

Tesla was also a pioneer of the Zero Point energy theory, which could potentially lead to antigravity technology, as well as "free energy." Imagine a world without combustion energy, coal powerplants, nuclear plants. Imagine an inexhaustable resource of energy. Tesla already has. And yet, all that he recieves credit for is a high-school physics demonstration, the scaled down tesla coil. Whay isn't this more efficient-more sustainable energy resource used (ac rather than dc)?

Was tesla too much of a genius for his time or is this a complicated government supression of knowledge, invilving the rich and famous, Marconi, Waterhouse, and Morgan, as well as the U.S. Government?

I don't think Tesla was taken seriously, mostly by his own fault. He was known to pull off elaborate publicity "stunts" that his contemporaries frowned upon, while his financiers had been afraid of ridicule. He had an appetite for sensationalism according to a book I read.

Not to mention that when you get your financial backing from millionare business tycoons.........you're bound to run into problems promising "free energy for all".

Also don't forget about the rivalry between Tesla and Edison. Edison was involved and owned several of the first motion picture companies, having invented the talking motion picture, where he did much to help build the misconception of Tesla as a "mad scientist". Tesla had earned alot of respect for his inventions, but also made some very powerful enemies.

ive always loved hearing about Tesla; from what I gather he was one of the most brilliant inventors of human history. Up there with Leonardo and Edison definatly.

It is very possible that his inventions were suppressed by the Rich Greedy people...they had every reason to want to suppress it...they would have lost all their power and $$$ because of Teslas inventions. So they hid his information away...

Im sure there has been serious study and expiermentation of his inventions in a military bunker somewhere

A misunderstood genius he was, just too brillant for a time where industry whores (like Edison) were reigning on the scientific community. He's also the proof that it's often the exploitative crooks who win in this world, and not the brilliant people with great ideas and providing a real contribution to society... Of course he wasw sensationalistic, and sometimes in a strange way (like when he tried to commercialize hsi special bird seeds... hmm), but hey I think he was jsut trying to make his own PR, catching the attention of the people in a world still dominated by coal and steam.

Anyways, HAARP and the TR-3B could have never existed with his groundbreaking inventions and research. Perhaps, in a distant future, his name will be restored as the man who was at the origins of all these great new breakthroughs...

As djohnsto77 already mentioned, there is another thread regarding Tesla in the Sci-Tech forum. I posted this thread a while back, looking for a consensus of readers on a man whom I think was very much ahead of his time. I own the book you referenced, and while it's quite informative, it's also not without slant. The latter parts of the book delve highly into speculation, with no real fact to back it up. I'm not saying that none of it could be true. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if parts (or all) of it were true, given the research that he was working on in his later years.

I myself have been working on trying to piece together a few of Tesla's more mysterious inventions, as well as using many of Tesla's inventions in my own creations. I think I've filled in a few parts of the missing information, though I'm unable to build/test until I manage to get some more free time and some funding to back my research.

Using Tesla's theories and research, I've come to realize that much of what we believe to be science fiction can actually be science fact, and far sooner than most may think. We'll just say that zero point is possible, and Tesla was REALLY onto something.

Pretty much all the way up to where he (the author) claims that tesla traveled in an electricity powered/propelled space capsule. And that he and numerous other scientists had faked thier own deaths to work on in secrecy in the south american rainforest on antigravity and time travel technology. That is where he loses me, but everything up to that point is pretty hard to deny. It makes me wonder...

What about Tesla and Zero Point Energy? Nobody has really explained his ideas to me completely. A writer in New Mexico is just about the best there is on the subject of his esoteric work but even then what I seem to hear is the old refrain: Push on the aether field and it will push back". Don't get me wrong, I understand this idea but there must be more. Can anybody add to this?

He intuitively understood AC current and field electromagnetics before other contemporaries did.

But he never made a death ray; the TUngsuka explosion was not a result of Tesla's experiments (physical evidnece is clear it was astrophysical), and many of his "mad scientist" explorations were just that.

The idea that he knew more about stuff that we do today with modern science is preposterous.

He had no knowledge of "zero point" energy---the concept of it wasn't even known and would be scientifically preposterous at the time. Only with the development of quantum mechanics, and second quantization at that, was it even conceivable and even then it's difficult to imagine, and how physical its influence (past Casimir effect) is unclear.

Tesla met with the US to talk about some of his inventions, that night he died, or did he. I feel his death was staged so that he could work on these projects without anyone knowing. Why you ask? Because Stalin wanted him badly so the US had no choice but to make Stalin believe he was dead. Whether they actually killed him will remain a mistery but his genius won't.
