This country is living in the past, Labour got elected on a 30 something proportion of the vote, that means 70% of people don't get represented. I think Labour changed things so they had the advantage, bit like America it doesn't matter who you vote for you always end up with the same party in charge.

please dont forget to mention George Galloway's win - the former Labour party MP, who called Tony Blair a liar and was kicked out of the party for it.

He stood up for his belief that the war in Iraq was wrong and illegal and stood as candidate in the newly-formed Respect party. He took this Labour safe seat from the pro-war Labour MP Oona King with a swing of 26.2%.

a shock win i have to say,
no one expected him to win the seat

Agreed, proportional representation is whats needed here in Westminster. Charles Kennedy said he'd implement it if he won but, alas, he never.

a PR system does have its good points, im not sure if we will see one in the UK. The only time we would for sure, if the Lib Dems gained power, but thats unlikely.

We have PR in the UK already. Scottish parliament is PR system which comprises a power share between Labour and Lib Dems
