ATS, the book

Topic started on 30-7-2003 @ 12:26 AM by Freddie

Just wondering, does this site have some sort of a connection to the book written by Timothy Good?

Why don't you paste a huge chunk of the book here so we can make a judgment call on that, Freddie?

Sorry. I don't know the book. I have always assumed the site is named after an intelligence code.

I doubt it. It was published in either 1988 or 1989. Look it up on Google. It seems to be a decent read, dealing with UFO's...

I have that book, and no, there is no connection between it and this site.

The book contains a great deal of good information, but a lot of it has since been proven false or otherwise contradicted, largely by stuff posted here on this site.

If you're going down the road of intellectual property violation, you'll find a dead end. Titles are not copyrightable material, one's intellectual property is. While the name of the site and the book you mentioned are accidentally the same, we could not replicate the author's content (intellectual property) without permission.

I'm not a lawyer, but at one point ran my own company that published my own, and other's intellectual property. At times, I had weekly contact with a legal specialist in intellectual property.

Damn timezones, I'm always beaten to responding to practically any question with regards to ATS.

As already stated, the book and this website coincidentally have the same name... it is a catchy phrase though, "above top secret."

One of my favorites, as is anything by Timothy Good.... True enough though, as with most UFO books, you have to weed through to find what you take as true....
