What is God?

Who is GOD? or What is GOD? A perfect person, one who sacrifices him for others, or somone who has truthful followers.

Trying to imagine/picture God is the first step to trying to become Him.

God is love, God is truth. God is in us all.

for that we have yet to fully explain.

However God is many things to many people. To some, he's a tool of control, for others, a symbol of hope, to still more, a powerful being to be placated, to others (like myself), a nonexistant "boogeyman" who will "get you" if you don't behave.

god (in reference to the christian god) is the same god as zeuz or any other god. it was made up by people to explain why bad things happen ("its gods will my child") and rely on this "god" as something of a crutch thinking that if they do good things and act a certain way everything will be alright and when something does goes bad there is ALWAYS an explanation "god is testing you!" "god wanted that to happen". its a way of explaining random things that happen. since we are pretty much trained to come up with some explanation foreverything that happens we eventually turn to god when all logics fails us.

does this really mean god exists? nope. like reality its all a matter of perception. what is real? what you think or want it to be. what it the truth? same answer, what you think or want it to be. what is god? third verse same as the first, whatever you think or want it to be.

im not knocking those who believe in god and i'm not knocking the concept of god. i think most of it is superstition used to explain bad things that happen to supposedly good people. i also think it was used to keep people in check according to someone elses standards.

religion is used as a means to define what is right and wrong (there is no definitive answer so i wont bother debating it) and ensure people didnt live as what some would call heathens. its all about living a way of life someone else has laid out for you to follow. thats why "gods children" (you're not children! good grief) are refered to as sheep or lambs. it is easy to herd people when they all think alike and act alike. thus calling them sheep.



but ignore me i am a godless athiest heathen who will be sent to hell!

It depends on your beliefs. Some people believe God is a spirtual being on a higher level which created everything. Some believe God and other gods are aliens from another planet, who created or helped the human race grow. And some of us believe that there isn't a God.

best answer i can give is i dont know. noone does, people are just guessing and of course everyone has "proof" to back up THEIR claim of who or what started all "this" as you call it. does this make things so? i say no but we dont really know do we?

To me, God is an instructor, a guide, and the potential of what we can become.

Well, since the answer to your question cannot be proven beyond doubt for everyone, I'll put forth an answer aimed more at creativity and sarcastic humor than toward established theory.

At this point God is probably being laughed at and/or teased by all the other Supreme Being's for the fact that his most prized creation, Humankind, still has not learned how to play nice with others even after a minimum time frame of 4000 years. I'm sure if The Almighty one chose to endulge in such feelings he'd be experiencing shameful dissapointment in viewing his master piece of created artwork spending eons acting like Arrogant Super Monkey's. How elegant we must look fumbling about through the decades as the one creature unable to simply live within nature's balance allowed for us. In fact if we were truely made in His/Her image with current results as our accomplishments, leads me to wonder how such an incredible and beautiful endless universe can function so well while we seem to only be capable of destruction.

I really dont know if god exists or not, I just look out there, and I see complexities, but more importanly, imperfections. If there is no god, there would probably be perfections, as a natural order of nature would make everything the same. God being an entity of some kind, obviously makes mistakes and more importanly diversity of objects and things. Nothing is the same, and thus it is obviously a work of some entity. Thats the way I see it.

you focus on the negative things too much. no wonder you have no "faith" in humanity, all you want to see are the bad things!

people are capable of good and evil. there is as much good to be found as there is bad its just people seem to enjoy finding the negative and focusing on it to the point that it effects them. strange how everyone points out nothing but negative things to make their "points" and rarely use a positive.
