Here's a LINK to the home page.

If you just can't get enough of the War on Terrorism marketing campaign, and want to contribute to driving the World under heel, here's the link so that you can earn while they burn!

" In support of Freedom & Democracy everwhere! (*** that they pay us for it!! ***) "

Yes, I encourage all to check out the link.....

BlackwaterUSA does it all from security consulting and advice, armored services, exectutive protection services, and yes they are in Iraq protecting US diplomats.

The Iraq thing is only a small portion of what they do.......you're acting like this is new news......the website has been around for awhile now.

I have quit a few friends that are independent contractors under Blackwater. The pay is good, they have the skill...can you blame them for wanting to make some big $$$?

Mercanaries?? what a joke...they are not hired guns (well they are) but not in the sense that most people think of. They do not go on covert missions and take people out.....they don't!!! In Iraq the only thing they are doing is protection details.

Good job ole boy, what a fine chap.

Seriously, these kinds of groups exist every where profit is available. One of the oldest professions.

BTW: BWUSA has had an office in Iraq for sometime now....your title is misleading "Mercenaries open new Baghdad Office".

Seriously, these kinds of groups exist every where profit is available. One of the oldest professions.

Yup, PMC's and Companies such as BW have only become popular lately due to the war in Iraq. And also due to the war they have grown and expanded into much larger companies tha before the war with offices all over the world...most are headquatered in the US and Britain.

Yea, Oldest Professions.

Like the guys at the CSC/ DynCorp:

The world's premier rent-a-cop business runs the security show in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the US-Mexico border. They also run the coca crop-dusting business in Colombia, and occasional sex trafficking sorties in Bosnia. But what can you expect from a bunch of mercenaries?

Real Peacekeepers.

Kathryn Bolkovac, a U.N. International Police Force monitor filed a lawsuit in Britain in 2001 against DynCorp for firing her after she reported that Dyncorp police trainers in Bosnia were paying for prostitutes and participating in sex trafficking. Many of the Dyncorp employees were forced to resign under suspicion of illegal activity. But none were prosecuted, since they enjoy immunity from prosecution in Bosnia.

Are these guys any similar, since they are both Mercenaries?

Employees and supervisors from DynCorp were engaging in perverse, illegal and inhumane behavior [and] were purchasing illegal weapons, women, forged passports and [participating in] other immoral acts."

Purchasing Women? Sex Trafficking?

Really wonderful. More Mercenaries we Need!

Wow they are pretty much the equivlanet of a modern day Shadowrunner.

I've got a friend that is part of a private police force (rent-piggie) He even gets a gun.. Right now he just keeps criminals away from Medical Center Hospital here in Odessa Texas.

Do Teachers BUY little ones, and sell them?

Do they commit Sex Trafficking in the land, that was torn apart by a terrible civil war, like Bosnia?

Do these Teachers get alot of money?

What exactly is your definition of mercenaries? Other than for- hire soldier? Blackwater is of course nothing new; they're peppered throughtout ATS threads.
As with the military, you have grunts & you have Special Ops. You think the four that were blown up in Fallujah & their corpses put on display were "escorting diplomats"!?!

There's nothing misleading; the Blackwater home page states:

" Blackwater USA has recently opened two new offices. The Baghdad & Amman Jordan offices are open now."

And the tie in, that maybe I should spell out, is this: Yes, these groups are growing tremendously. Why? Because their deaths are not counted. Their deployed headcount is not counted. The monies to hire them is not accounted for in the same ledger category.

All of the above enhances the administration deceit; to use a military term - it "polishes the turd" that is the Iraqi clusterf***k.

Huh? I'm fairly certain that they were Blackwater employees....in fact, I'm just about positive.

yeah the falujah guys were blackwater,

There is much to say about mercenaries, but the majority of the work these guys are doing in Iraq is protective (diplomats, convoys ect) the guys that got caught in fallujah were suppusedly on route to an Convoy or got cut off from a convoy when they were capture.

Yes, That is one of BW's main missions in Iraq. They work work the DoS Diplomatic Security Service to protect whatever they assign them to protect.
Do you think they are doing some kind of special ops there?

The 2 offices, I think have been open for sometime now. They just still have it on the website, probably did'nt remove it yet.

According to websters all troops that volunteerly enter the servive can be considered mercenaries. That is if they join for the money (which is not really that much). Or if someone is hired to a Foreign Army for monetary gain. BW guys in Iraq are US Citizens..... and they are not working for the Military over there, they are wokring for the State Dept.

The are not mercenaries....prove otherwise.

They are not enlisted in any branch of service

They are not subjected to the military chain of command, other than their duty officer's assigned task to them

They are undertaking offensives, not soley defensive postures

They are killing people

What has you hung up about the term mercenary? Are "privatization" vs. "personal account" or "Death Tax" vs "Estate Tax" other points of hang up for you?
Spin as you like, Blackwater forces are 'for hire' soldiers, i.e. Mercenaries.
And if they are slow to update their web page, as you say, why is it of such concern to you?

Can you give an example of an offensive act done by Blackwater in Iraq?
Or any other PMC in Iraq?

I don't think they have, but I seriously do not know. If they have I would like to know.
