Irishman Sean Gerard Hoey, 35, from Jonesborough, Co Armagh is to face murder charges for the Omagh terrorist bombing. The car bomb, which killed 29 people and injured more than 300, was the work of the Real IRA. The bombing was the worst single terrorist incident in Northern Ireland.

A man is to face murder charges over the Omagh bombing, the Press Association news agency has reported.

The report said the Director of Public Prosecutions has instructed police to bring charges against one man over the 1998 atrocity, when 29 people died.

One of the 29 fatalities was a woman pregnant with twins.

More than 300 people were injured in the no warning car bomb, the worst single terrorist outrage in Northern Ireland.

Im glad the worst terrorist attrocity Britain faced is still being prosecuted through the courts, how it should be. We never invaded Ireland (again) to stop these terrorists and as a consequence we actually have half a chance of stopping Irish terrorism. Unlike Islamic terrorism where we seem to deal with it with invasions.

While this is great news there is one single issue that scares me. This 'man' is being charged with murder for terrorist actions.

The issue is why do we have control orders then? Why, if this crime is classed as murder in British law, do we have to bypass our criminal courts when Islamic terrorists conspire to commit murder (terrorist attacks)?

Why cant our courts handle these Islamic terrorists for conspiracy to murder charges? Where is the justice when we can prosecute white men and give them their day in court but we have that much hatred for middle easterners that we even deny them a fair trial.

Either that or control orders are nothing more than a tool to control the population outside the rule of law.
