Newtons law of gravitation only holds for rigid objects, as does Einsteins formula for special relativity.
Quantum Mechanics when applied to atoms applies to vibrating objects as atoms are always vibrating. Atoms being the constituents of objects rigid to the eye.

To come up with a theory to combine both of these, string thory, vibrating objects to does that don't appear to vibrate is absurd.

I'm not that familiar with string theory, but from everything I've heard it seems to be legit. Could you elaborate a little more on what exactly is absurd about it? I've never heard anything put as theories on "rigid" and "vibrating" objects; it's always been "macro" and "micro" objects in the stuff I've read...

(moved from science to chit chat... we're seeing opinions and perhaps the start of a nice debate, but the opening statement hasn't linked any backup evidence.)
