Replace the exclusive good vs evil of fundementalism with the tenets of science/atheism and there will be those more than happy to buy right into evolutionary morality, survival of the fittest/might is right/good guys are losers.
Both ends of the spectrum, religious and scienctific, are nuetral its man's application of these ideas that have been instrumental in spreading death/misery and oppression to the masses in one way or the other. Neither should be used as a scape goat.
