Well, no, not exactly. The poppy fields are booming and people are still dying there, yet not a word in the media. Airstrikes not making the networks? Since when? Since they want you to forget about Afghanistan, but why? Because the pipeline that we pushed so hard for is to feed the asian market, not the western markets. The sooner you forget why we are still in Afghanistan, the faster they can start pumping that crude. That's why I think there is a media black out on Afghanistan.

Seven Killed in Central Afghan Airstrike
By Stephan Grahm
The Associated Press

Saturday 30 April 2005

Kabul, Afghanistan - An airstrike on a suspected insurgent camp in central Afghanistan killed three civilians and four militants, the US military said Saturday.

All seven died when warplanes attacked the camp in Uruzgan province on Friday, a military statement said.

"The attack killed one Afghan woman, one Afghan man and a child," the statement said. Two more children were wounded and taken to the US base in the southern city of Kandahar for treatment, it said.

The military didn't say whether US planes carried out the attack or give details of the victims. A spokeswoman had no further details.

The military said Friday's strike occurred during a series of attacks over two days against insurgents in Uruzgan, a mountainous province that US and Afghan authorities have failed to pacify despite intense military operations.
