Okay, I just got here about 30 minutes ago and read all the "advice" you kind folks have offered...

TRUST me when I say, I have a VERY solid opinion that literally ANYTHING is possible including but not limited to the "entrapment" of one's spirit in this plane of existence.

I will NOT say that I beleive it happens but I WILL say that I can't guarentee it does not because we simply DO NOT KNOW...

I am sort of a skeptical wonderer... NOONE alive today can tell me definitively that there is or is not an "afterlife". All the religious gurus and all the athiests that proclaim one way or the other are merely speculating.

What I do beleive is that anything IS possible.

It is in that light that I shall have a VERY PLEASENT conversatioin with the an empty room or a spirit. It just seems like the right thing to do in my gut and I ALWAYS go with my gut when I don't I ALWAYS get screwed...

I can also ASSURE you all that I have absolutely ZERO fear of ANYTHING/ONE that is no longer capable of "living"...

I'll let you know what, if anything happens...

I went up into the attic and told it/he/she that I sympathised with its/his/her plight BUT it/he/she could no longer scare or bother my family...

I used IAP's groundrules approach and instructed it/he/she that the kid's rooms and our bedroom were strictly off limits and that it/he/she could use the library only when there was no one else in there.

I did give it/he/she the whole attic as its/his/her "turf" in trade...

I also indicated that I most ASSUREDLY would never fear it/him/her and am more than willing to help if I can but stressed that we all have to live here together and I can't have my family being bothered in their home.

I then asked it/he/she if they would like to present themselves to me and i saw nothing but I did have a fleeting "feeling" that something was behind me. I turned and naturally there was nothing there but darkness.

Hopefully this will suffice in creating a worklable situation based on common respect and mutual civility.

If it does not then we will bring in a friend of Val's come in and "cleanse" the house...

Hopefully the entity is reading this as I type and understands my intentions are genuine in as much as I am more than willing to give it refuge here as long as it/he/she follows these simple edicts.

Thanks for the link. I installed it and though I don't know much about what I'm doing here, I did just listening to the recording in reverse at normal speed and in reverse at 50% speed.

The mysterious "sound" is entirely different when ran backwards. This is interesting. I look forward to hearing other's thoughts once they have heard this.

when you say it's entirely different...can you make out any words? Do you hear any additional sounds? Just wondered.

I don't know. But it's even spookier sounder when it's slowed down to 50%, whether it's running in reverse or not!

I think an interesting test for comparison would be to run the tap through that has you and your daughter on it to hear what those sound like slowed down. I thought that having those voices on the regular tape as comparisons help ground you in what regular voices sound like. I can't wait to hear more. Any weird stuff last night after Springer had the talk? He told them they could have the attic. Any attic stuff today?

I'm glad to hear you were able to speak with them. The mere fact that you had the "fleeting feeling" tells me that, the enitity indeed was listening and heard every word you said.

No. Nothing weird has happened since my last report. Also, I have been remiss in not turning on my tape recorder...sorry I kind of got out of it over the Thanksgiving holiday when the house was full of people.

I'll turn it back on tonight.

Anything new? We haven't heard a peep out of you in a while. I take it all has gone quiet? Have you stopped taping?

Nothing on my side. As far as the taping...it's been rough getting any done because my son is done with school for the semester, and now my daughter is home for Christmas break.

Hopefully first of the year I'll get to start up again.

Springer's talk may have worked! BUT, then again, there has been big gaps in between activity before.

Hi everybody.

Well, I have an update. Nothing has happened in the house since Springer had his "talk"...so no news on the weird news is good.

What I'm posting about is that I received a call 2 nights ago from the granddaughter of the builder of my house. My house is a lot older than I had thought. We had dated it at about 1904-1905. It was built somewhere between 1895-1897. She has read the letters written by her grandfather to her grandmother (he left her back in Indiana when he came out here to start a homestead) in which he talks of the work on the house and that he wishes she was here to help! All of their kids were born in this house, with the first one being born in 1897, and the last one (her mother) being born in 1902.

This lady lived her first four years in this house, and then lived the year of her first grade in this house (because her father was in a terrible accident which took him about a year to recover from). She also visited often all the way up until her grandfather's death.

She has pictures she is going to bring down and show me, and she is going to walk through the house with me and tell me what it was like then.

She has not seen the picture that all of you have seen (dated c. 1906) and looks forward to seeing it. According to the dates, most likely the little girl in the picture is her mother, and the woman is her grandmother.

Her mother had an older sister who contracted TB. The parents built a special little house in the back (which isn't there now) for her to live in, and the only person that ever went in it was the grandmother (the girl's mother) to care for her. Then the girl died.

I told her about the occurences in the house, and I also hinted that I was suspect of the second family. I will talk with her more when she comes to visit.

I will let you know what I learn from her visit.

So anyway i think you could be getting possesed ithout you even knowing it. Then when someone sees you the ghost suddently leaves you, and you dot reember anything, but this is highly unlickly but i think there are ghosts in that house.
