I was wondering if the "problem" with the voting had been worked out. It was a good debate and I was curious of the final tally.

Well, after speaking with the powers on high, and having a good deal of IT power turned on this matter, it would appear that there is NO
evidence of foul play.
(All I can offer to both parties and the rest of ATS is that it sure as hell looked wierd)
According to William, there is a random XMB bug with the pole counting software. Although it did indeed look fishy to myself and others on the board
at the time, I have been assured that this is not the first time this has happened. (Unfortunately)
This bug occassionally at random will allow members to vote more than once, and on at least one occassion, with Onlyinmydreams set up a vote thread,
it actually recorded and listed all members who voted.
However, after a good deal of searching and checking of IP logs, NO evidence was found of hacking or otherwise manipulating the vote talley.
I would like to publicly apologize to both GoreGrinder and Colonel, as well as the rest of ATS, for my misstep in this highly anticipated first Grudge
Match debate.

Plaudits to both Colonel and goregrinder for the efforts in the debate.
dr, William
1. Does the random XMB bug actually affect the poll counting results in any way, or just look funny?
2. I'm also interested in the final result, and the confidence expressed in it.
Both participants went at it and made for some very interesting reading. I hope they are getting on in the Forums better than some of the post-debate
stuff between them.

MA,
The answer to your question is frankly, I dont know. Not to duck the issue, but that is better addressed to William. I do know that occassionally, it
will allow one ATS member to vote more than once. Also, in the pole made by Onlyinmydreams, it listed all the members who voted (someone thought it
was a hack attempt on my personally as I was the first to vote and all of a sudden I was the one choice on his list)
The last vote before all this went wierd (and keep in mind it had another 24 hours of voting to go), was GG 16, Colonel 15 (very close voting all
along).
Then it apparently reversed, with GG 15 and Colonel 16. I saw this happen, and did in fact think it had been hacked, at which point I called a halt to
the voting and Alien locked the thread.

Very interesting indeed, dr.
You do a great job looking after these heated debates and you were very "on the ball" to see that 'change' as the XMB forum poll counting software
put it through.
Interesting how few people take an interest in the Election Fraud scandal posted elsewhere in "ATS real life". Worth a look at to see how your vote
in any US election will end up amounting to nothing. A lot of members here say their vote makes no difference anyway.
In fine 2000 Presidential Election form, I think the Florida vote counting should now be stopped, and Colonel appointed the immediate winner.
J/K. But that is the history of the Bush appointment in a nutshell.

You're too funny, MA.
Its ok, DR. I would like to think the whole thing is a nullity and I ain't gonna do that again. Just to tired to fight.

Yeah, due to the massive paranoia revolving around the whole situation and the obvious flared emotions, I think it best to just call it a draw and
commend both participants for an excellent debate.
