Another thread has disappeared...I think

I usually just read this forum and never post but I just wanted to ask about a certain topic.

It was about a soldier in Iraq who had taken photos of a suicide bomber and sent them to someone, who had posted them here.

Now, I cannot find the thread. Maybe I'm being stupid and have missed it somewhere or it has been deleted. Either way, can someone tell me where it as and if it has been deleted, why? Cheers.

That thread was removed because it contained links to pictures showing mutilation. This is strictly forbidden by the T&C.

Does this mean no more Iraq war photos? Or beheading photos?

I realize in the past that there have been those types of photos and images, for example the Nick Berg beheading analysis. However they really are against the T&C. I suppose the fairest way to treat this issue is on a case by case basis, however personally I am really against that type of material being presented here. There isnt an age limit to join this board, and I cant imagine what the response would be if some 13 year old was caught viewing images like that either at home or at school.

Has Rotten ever gotten sued?

It was my understanding that there are no laws on the depiction of violence, and that only sex was age-controlled in the sphere of the internet.

I'm of the opinion that reality needs to be presented in all its vagaries, no matter how distasteful.

Am I mistaken?

If someone is smart enough to find ATS, then they are smart enough to find the websites that cater to the macabre... Let's leave it there, everyone has to have a niche, they can have their blood and guts, we can stick to paranoia and misspelled words.

Rotten isn't ATS. We don't allow it, they do. A 13 year old can access porn, but if you have a warning the site loses all accountability. We have no warning because we aren't that kind of site. Besides, there wouldn't be criminal cases, only civil. You don't need 'laws' for those as much as "MY BABY! YOU HURT MY BABY!"

The post in question was authored by myself. When I received the photos, I knew I had to do SOMETHING with them. I was actually moved by story, so I posted them on here. I've been a member here for a while, and should have known better..

Anyrate, within a 24 hour period the thread went from getting hits, to being locked, to me being put on ignore, being allowed back in, the thread going to RATS, me dumping 5G to view it, only to have it moved back out into ATS in a matter of minutes. There it stayed for a few hours untill in the middle of a reply I posted, I found it had been moved into the thrash bin, by some mod named "William One Sac".

Well, needless to say I was pretty annoyed by this time. I thought that the drama had settled down. I honestly had no idea that this wasnt allowed. I knew what behavior was approiate in here. But I had no idea of the severity of what I did, till the ignore thing happened. But after some talkin with the mods all seemed well. Then BAM! Outta da blue, in the trash...by some mod I've never heard of...

Well, I did reply to that U2U..nothing to harsh, but I was really annoyed by it. Plus I hadnt even heard of this "William" guy anyways..So I fired off my U2U and then checked the mod list to see who he was....But he wasnt on there...No...Instead, I found his name waaay on top, just under Simons....

You ever have that feeling, like you want to take the letter out of the mail...You know the one. The one where you wrote your boss a note letting him know how much you hate him, but then at the last minute, you changed your mind, but its to late!! The truck allready came !!...It felt something like that..

Well, luckily this site is cool and run by level-headed individuals. The right choice was made on this. Honestly, whether or not I knew TC issue, common sense should have told me better. Now, I can no longer say "Trust Me! I'm NEVER wrong!!"..33 years..It was a good streak!

Anyrate, the post is where it should be on here..If anyone wants the pics (and there were more than what I posted) U2U me..
