We could discuss porn and its exposure to young people. But maybe in another thread.

You are right about exposure to this kind of thing though.

If my child was exposed to porn whilst using a chat room, then there would be no more chat for that child. I understand that this kind of thing happens, and will continue to happen while ever the "big" companies allow it to.

As a responsible parent, I would "vet" any source of chat before allowing my children on it.

for your enlightenment and elucidation, some of what legally qualifies as "child porn" is filmed and uploaded and traded by the same teenagers you pass by hanging out on the streetcorner, who consider it fun to show off their exploits
....YAHOO can't do much to stop them from opening sites, and..... how many parents have unlimited access to their teen's computers?

furthermore, the legal age for engaging in porn varies from place to place....isn't it 15 in france? even lower in the netherlands?

then, there's the 20 year old girls who dress and act like 15 year olds, legally impersonating underage schoolgirls for people who like such things....no, not me.

so what i'm saying is that not much, realistically, can be done about any of this.....but maybe it's a good thing to be passionate about it.

Ages are different from around the world in regards to things like this. I remember during the 80's, tons of girls were turning up pregnant. It wasn't called the names it is called today, it was called teenage pregnancy. So many people pushed to stump out teenage pregnancy.

This is the new moral crusade. You know, every decade we have to invent a new moral crusade. We have to pass more and more laws and then to make ourselves look right, we must "force" the rest of the world to follow suite.

After this moral crusade, it'll be a gay crusade, then after that moral crusade, it will be an abortion crusade, then after that crusade it will be a religious crusade.

The crusades that annoy me the most is sexual crusades because they have no place in a society that has bigger problems to deal with.

Humans will always have sex until the eugenists decides who should and who should not.

I'm proud to say that yahoo shut it's user rooms finally , and crippled the frenzy that was going on , here's a link about that :

www.ynot.com...

ironic that they only stopped when the big companies pulled thier ads , if Pepsi didn't i bet there would still be such chat rooms today .

I skimmed about 3½ pages to add my comments/experiences.

Yahoo chats are rampant with unlawful activities, including terrorist offering "martyr kits", naturally I reported them to the FBI.

Yahoo chats are FLOODED with Spam/Porn bots, no chat room is safe.

Yahoo chat is full with perverts that will show them selves to everyone, including small kids.

I pretended to be a 12 year old kid once, this dude started talking to me, I knew he was a pervert and I told him: i'm 12 years old and he responded with: doesn't matter to me!

He wanted to see a 12 year old kid undress on cam!

We live in a sick sick world...let's hope they will never prey on their victims offline...

You sound like you would do great helping out at www.perverted-justice.com...
It's a website where concerned citizens help weed out those chat room pedo pervs and get criminal convictions against them.

It's horrific to think of the balls some of those pervs have, I've often thought about joining up there, but I guess I'm too chicken.

It's a sick, sick world we live in.

I dont know why it made such big news when AOL had it a lot worse for years and they had invisible chat monitors going room to room that didnt even seem to stop it.
if the FBI was doing its job they would have neted a bunch of fish in yahoo but I guess they were to buisy hastleing kids for downloading free music in P2P *shrug*
