There are dozens of threads about this here. Just boolean search "matrix" and you will get like 1000 hits.

Please when stating there are other threads please provide a few links for the member

Thoughts are mere chemical reactions

If this is true, then I would rather not be 'conscious'.

I find it very difficult to believe that feelings of love (and I mean real love, for all those who know what I mean) are the results of molecular interactions.
One grain of comfort I have though is that we still don't REALLY know how 'molecules' etc. interact in this 'physical' plain.

So how do you suppose love manifests itself then?

Backrubs?

Yes, it is through chemical and molecular interactions. Very, very complex ones that are all programmed to do something so that the sum total is thought, but how one makes the jump from reaction to cognitive function. Probably a few billion brain cells have something to do with it.

There's no such thing as a soul, but that lack of proof right there is the best argument for one. (there is none)
