'Iran: The Nuclear Threat'
Thursday, April 21, 2005

Scanning the world horizon, there is no greater potential flashpoint than Iran. President Bush and his foreign policy team believe that Tehran (search) is actively pursuing nuclear weapons. The ayatollahs who run that country flatly deny it.

The fate of millions of people and the security of the United States are at stake. How great is the threat and what should the White House do about it

The president doesnt want to invade Iran. Here is Faux news telling of the dangers of the enemy- we better kill them first. So whats a president to do? If Fox sees this horrible problem well then maybe it can get Bush to change his mind? This is quite the masterpiece handed down from the white house. Its like good cop bad cop. Its disgusting.

THe bbc does not have to worry about mr president, so they are more likely to broadcast untampered and unsided information. I never did trust fox news anyway. Fox is for money and not truth. Anyway, i hope that they go down(however it happens).

Tom, this is how Rupert Murdoch's Fox News will meet their demise.

This documentary also reveals the secrets of Former Fox news producers, reporters, bookers and writers who expose what it's like to work for Fox News. These former Fox employees talk about how they were forced to push a "right-wing" point of view or risk their jobs. Some have even chosen to remain anonymous in order to protect their current livelihoods. As one employee said "There's no sense of integrity as far as having a line that can't be crossed." Source

I have to say, I'm really amused with people who buy a movie to find out Fox is biased. What amuses me more is people's rage over it. I made a phonecall to a friend a while back, and we started talking, then argueing politics. He was going on and on about how horrible, corrupting, etc. Fox News is. I stopped him for a second, and asked him what he was listening to on his radio. His answer? NPR. He can think, and when I said, "how ironic", he made the connection and stopped complaining about Fox. Most people, however, are incapable of seeing bias on both sides. A relative of mine said she got her news from moveon.org and NPR. At the time, I had no idea what moveon.org was. However, I said NPR was pretty biased. Another relative of mine chimed in saying that's her only source of news and she doesn't see any bias in it. They're really fair.

I don't mean to get off on a rant here, but this website is about ignorance being denied. However, I see a lot of complaining about Fox News, a privately owned news station, being too biased. However, I would hope and expect, if we were following this site's motto of deny ignorance, that those same people would be upset with NPR, a government funded national radio station, doing the same thing for the opposite political ideology. I don't though. Quite frankly, it makes me a little bitter towards the left (this is a largely liberal website, and the only discussion board I actually participate in, so my emotional reaction is unfair, but there none the less) that they can be such hypocrites and think it's totally acceptable.

EDIT: Added "I don't mean to get off on a rant here, but" to the second paragraph

Nice try,

I'm beginning to believe that ALL media sources are controlled and driven to accomplish governmental objectives.

Actually, i crosreferance multiple sources and decide on an absolute truth. The bbc is the source i find to be most accurate. They arn't always correct, and they still have some corupt motives, but their biased is not american.

I've yet to see or hear a "liberal" news source want to destroy the world.

I listen to both.

No...all liberal news lives for is to bash anything republican...praise anything not...with small glimpses of news in between...fox has its obvious republican slant....but they are the only one...CNN, MSNBC, most major newpapers (NY TIMES, Boston Globe)...have a liberal slant...the thing that scares liberals is that fox news has such a big audience...

Fox news has to be the worst news network in the entire world period.
I once saw this documentary about the netherlands and our policy on "killing babies that are not born perfect".
It was almost hilarious, if it wasn't for the fact that the documentary wasn't ment as a joke.

It's beyond pathetic, it's just evil and wrong.

Who's cousin works at Fox News? GWB's cousin John Ellis.
Rupert Murdock who owns Fox News is a registered Republican.
Bill O'Reilly is also a registered Republican. He has such nice things to say about people who won't let him sexually harrass them.
"It is true that if you are poor and can't afford a good lawyer, your odds of going to jail skyrocket. But you know what? TOUGH!"

Ann Coulter, a favorite guest on any fox news show is a registered Republican with these interesting things.
"God Says, "Earth is yours. Take it, rape it, it's yours." "
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to christianity."
"We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise they will turn out to be outright traitors!"
So nice isn't she?

Sean Hannity, a main host, like Bill, is also a registered Republican. What does he say?
"Canada is a left-wing, socialist basket case. What kind of friends are they?"
"They're a bunch of gutless, spineless cowards!"(on women who were in Iraq but not on the front lines)

Sure there are more, Brit Hume, a registered Republican. Also, isn't the company Rush Limbaugh work for owned by Murdoch? Mister "Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society." a known and proud republican.

Ok, watching Fox News this morning, and what do I hear? "Now that we have taken care of the Iraqi Nuclear threat..." WHAT IRAQI NUCLEAR THREAT!!!! There was NONE!

www.solomonstemple.com...
www.whatreallyhappened.com...
www.edu-cyberpg.com...

Ok, and this is stuff over the FACT that FOX NEWS SUED that they could lie, nothing wrong with lieing on news.
www.fairness.com...
www.rense.com...
www.relfe.com...
paulm.com...
www.vaccinationnews.com...

There, FOX NEWS FIRING REPORTERS FOR NOT LIEING AS ORDERED!!!! And then they come back and sue that they can lie, call it news, and it all ok. So, Fox is so holy is it?

Since no one uses the boolean search or anything, I posted my stuff from a different topic on the same thing.

I know they are biased...and that is ok. Let 'em be that way. I just wish they would drop the word News from their channel. Also CNN and some others should as well. You have to get up very early in the morning to see actual news.

And do not ever think that there is not a balance of sorts for media outlets. The "it's Fox and Rush against the entire left wing" thought process is absurd. Since Fox's success, many of the other "news" channels have become increasingly conservative. The Right Wing owns the radio air waves. Who does the left have on the radio? Stuart Smalley, Jeanine Garafalo (comedic hack), Jerry Springer...the right owns the radio. And in print there are a number of conservative papers. Not to mention blogs and magazines and other things. The right tries to look like a victim in this when they have a comparable share in the media.

Instigator, isn't that a song by Tom Petty? Everyone knows Fox News is petty, unlike the real Petty who is awesome IMO.

Um Fox news was born out of being biased for the right wing. That's why it was founded, to fight all them left wing loving networks like MSNBC.

Exactly...it was all fine and dandy when liberal media controlled our news...but now that there is a conservative counterpart...its the antichrist...kind of hypocritical...no?

Other channels do not really compare to fox in that way.
Fox is truly just bad, a bad news channel not worthy the title "news channel", it goes further then just being right.

As these kinds of complaints or rather "defenses of bias" are quite common and a couple threads now make clear the liberal agenda is supposedly exposed on PBS and NPR, so please help out with finding it. Seriously, I do listen to NPR quite a bit and I keep missing the "liberal ideology" show. You can take that as a joke "exposing my bias" or someone could seriously tell me where a couple of guys talking about fixing cars is liberal, a dude telling me how to kill kudzu is liberal, a woman talking about low carb cooking is liberal, or any of the interviews of both national and local figures I catch are liberal? I know they do news too, and I'm thrilled when I catch it. It's about the only place that let's quotes tell the story and news makers tell the story in their own words whether they be the President or some dude in the street (be it main street USA or Iraq)! And I assure anyone listening to an NPR local affiliate in Blue Country, mine in Red Country is quite different. The call in's on the local programming are FARMERS and upset about this tax or that tax... I mean seriously, I don't know what you people are talking about.

As for PBS, muppets teaching math are liberal? Does PBS need "fair & balanced" hour of hate to even out all the be nice and do what your parents tell you warm squishy "liberal" stuff? Is it the "News Hour" that's liberal on PBS? That 1/24th of the whole day where (again) they let the news tell itself as opposed to interpreting it for us?

Until somebody does a study, or shows me any type of "mediawatch" type website documenting actual NPR/PBS liberal follies in broadcasting, then it's an URBAN LEGEND.

Air-America is liberal no doubt. It's in their tag-line. That makes them honest as opposed to "fair & Balanced."
But NPR/PBS are only partisan to the truth. That in and of itself means "liberal" to many conservatives I know, but that's your hangups.
