I was wondering if anyone has any info or a link or anything where I can hear suspected audio of a Skunkape.
I was camping in the Ocala National Forest in central FL. in Oct. last year and I heard something that scared the crap out of me and I am
curious. My friend and I were awakend at around 2:30 in the morn. by an extremely loud screaming sound, it sounded like a a woman was being murdered
but only the voice was a little deeper and alot louder than a normal person. I have heard audio of supposed Bigfoot screams on the web and that is the
closest thing i can find to what I heard. I know it was not an owl, a black bear, boar, wild turkey, or any other form of wildlife I have ever
encountered. I have been hiking and camping out in the deep woods all my life, and in several states and Canada, but I have never heard anything like
it before or since.
If anyone knows if the Skunkape is known to do the same thing please let me know. I will never forget that sound, I'm going camping out there
again in June and this time I'm taking my camcorder and a digital voice recorder.

I've heard raccoons screaming that sound like you describe. The first time I heard one my whole family thought a woman was getting attacked in the
woods behind our house. My dad even called the police.

What is a "skunkape" exactly? It's not another name for a bigfoot is it?

When you said sounds like a woman screaming it was a dead give away. Go check out some audio files of cougars and Im pretty sure thatl be it. Cougars
calling out in the night sounds like a woman screaming bloody murder and its very loud. The cougars call is the source of many urban legends. Yes it
is absolutely blood chilling to hear and I wouldnt go back without a rifle and some night vision. Get to curious and you may end up dinner. Im a big
believer in the Skunkape. They are seen nearly year round down there. The best and most believable skunkape photos Ive ever seen are on
cryptozoology.com. Those just cannot be fake. No way. Check em out.

So, your camping, you hear SOMETHING, which could have very possibly been the pot you were smoking, and you ASSUME it's a #in skunkape?
What in the hell, what a nut lol

Anonymous whats youre obsession with pot? I guess the skunkape is just after some campers stash. No pot involved in my giant owl incident either. I
know! Those giant owls were just attacking eachother because they were so pissed off we didnt have any pot! I guess if I took a bale of pot to Loch
Ness and lit it afire on the shore Nessie would surface immedietly, inhale the bale and raid the local convenience store for potato chips afterwards!
That latest bigfoot sighting in Manitoba? The guy had to have been burning down a huge spliff as he piloted the ferry and ol bigfoot smelled it and
came out to take the pass from tha left hand side!

And copies of those audio files have been known to be played late at night through loudspeakers in remote areas where people are camping.

Most likely a Panther. I grew up not far fm Ocala, place called Inverness and as rare as it was there was a panther loose in the woods. A team was
sent to find the animal. Anyway, during the recovery efforts everyone in our neighborhood (we lived in the boonies) heard that sucker scream.
It was the MOST chilling sound I have ever heard.

He has no proof, therefore it should be ridden off as a panther.

Will his lack of proof shrink him down first, so he can fit on said panther to ride off on it.
Sorry couldn't resist.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Skunkape go to the above
site. The best Skunkape photos around. Up close and way to personal. They just cannot be fake. Looks like some kind of orangutange. Skunkapes are seen
year round in Florida. Still not Bigfoot though. Seems to be another species altogether. www.cryptozoology.com

..I live in Fla myself and we have a Panther(s) that travels my area certain times of the year, she had a cub a few years back and i even found their
tracks in my back acre the Night after hearing them close by, very close by..turns out less than 200' from my house. (the 'momma left very large
Deep tracks in hard packed sand) I even found her den a few months later, I'm 6' tall and could easily lay in it..I've also seen her twice by
high-beam light .
Not only can they make the 'woman screaming bloody murder" sound (quite chilling) they also make what i call the "Giant Baby" scream which is
equally chilling. I've been hearing these 'calls' for over 15 yrs and I still get a chill down my spine everytime I hear it.

Ok, to set the record straight........no pot involved! I've heard the panther before, and yes it's bone chilling, but the sound I heard was
different, it was a bit deeper. But I guess since i don't have proof, it could be assumed it was a panther or some other "normal" animal, however I
have my doubts. I am not crazy, nor am I making something up here, I heard "SOMETHING" and it was not like the crap you usually hear in the woods,
ie; racoons, owls, wildcats, or a panther. Well thanks to all that reply'd with links to skunkape/bigfoot info. it is interesting to say the least.
