Even though the other coach lost, he still has a mouth. Think about that. Gorbachev is hitting the nail right on the head as said before. This is just one of the warnings that apparently are going quiet in the night because of the refusal of Americans to even consider the idea that the country is in danger in different aspects which do not concern terrorism at all.

The analogy was correct, leaders (coaches) win and lose, whether it is on the world scale, or as simple as a little league game.

Could the old Soviet Army or the US Army just gather up and fight with no leadership? Could the Boston Red Sox, or any pro sports team go through the season without coaches, and win?

People forget that Gorbachev had the intelligence and political flair to put forward reforms that were revolutionary in their day AND get the reactionaries in the Politburo to go with those reforms... if he really had been stupid, he would've lasted two years, been toppled and been replaced with another Brezhnev.

Kudos to Gorbachev. I'm tired of this "America can't go wrong" mentality.

Yep...i agree with you. The supposed collapse of the U.S.S.R. was just a sham....been saying this and presenting proof to back up what I have been saying pretty much since i joined this forum.

We have been giving the Russian government money for them to get rid of their aging arsenals, and for other projects, yet they have not used much, and in many cases any of that money towards those goals we agreed upon....and the anti-american propaganda still exists in Russia.... whoever thinks the Russian government is not communist anymore has been asleep for a long time....

Every communist country has always claimed that all the problems they have been having and all the problems in the world are because of the US and Capitalism....and they have convinced much of the world to embrace much of what they have indoctrinated into their own people....

How lucky for the NeoCons. I realize the more I go back and study Reagan and his legacy, most of today's "Republicans" don't know a whole lot about the Gipper, tho they seem to think they do. They hail him and his revolution, using him, as they betray much of what he stood for.

Cure ourselves of being winners? OH I get it now he wants us to be the losers. I think our whole world really is on the way to some dangerous things, but I don't think the answer is for America to lay down and die just because there is a danger of things getting out of hand over here.

What are the Russians afraid of? Do they think we'll become a dangerous, regressive, nuclear armed failed state whose instability threatens the security of the rest of the world? Gee, I wonder what gave them the idea that such a thing could happen. Maybe they've seen it before somewhere?
