Speculated 5 years on the prophecy of many different places.

VATICAN CITY - Pope Benedict XVI predicted a "short reign" in comments to cardinals just after his election, and his brother said Wednesday he was worried about the stress the job would put on the 78-year-old pontiff.

112. The LAST POPE!
(Peter the Roman) "In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge the people. The End."
St. Malachy Prophect website

I've started this thread because I believe the person who is to be number 112 is noticeable right now and would love to hear the different opinion on who it is & why based on the prophecy of St. Malachy.

All Responders to this thread must base their speculation on the assumption that the prophecy is true!

Hello. I had the same thoughts as Ryanp5555, so I did a lot of research on this Pope while ATS was down yesterday. I am trying to connect it to prophecy, since I do believe in them. I also have a thought (getting sidetracked here) The RCC doesn't want to acknowledge that these prophicies are legitimate yet they seem to go out of their way to give them creedence. They had no control over when JPII was born but I feel that they buried him on Friday intentionally. Back to the subject. He is a diocesian priest, he is not of any order, so it rules out the Benedictians. The church has said that the name a Pope (shuddering) picks is important to his legacy, so I researched the Benedict popes. Benedict XV and Benedict 1 were highly thought of. The rest weren't. One was an antipope, one was murdered, etc. So why would you pick that name? I feel that there was no outright connection to Glory of the Olives, so he picked Benedict to force a fit. I feel this Pope somehow forced his Papacy. When he was standing on the balcony looking out at the crowd, there was a look in his eyes. I wish I could put an emotion to it, but it made me uneasy. The only thing I can think of is that the olive branch stands for peace, and maybe in this papacy he will broker peace somewhere, somehow. I guess that remains to be seen. I do alot of genealogy and adoption searches for people so I thought let me look up the last name. Other than Bavaria I can not find Ratzinger anywhere. There are 46 listings in the US in some databases. I can not find a meaning for this name anywhere. Some last names have no meaning but most do. I wish I could find a coat of arms. The interesting thing I did find is that the name RATSINGER is a jewish name. Names were changed and mispelled alot over the ages and I wonder if he has Jewish lineage somewhere. That would uphold the prophecy. I am going to track his lineage as best I can and try to figure it out. It may take awhile though, I don't speak German so I have to translate it and I also have to wait on archives from the LDS center. One last note, I truly feel that the Catholics should apoligize to the rest of the world for this Pope. So let me start, I am so sorry our Cardinals did this. I guess we shall see. Jane
