I heard they were canceling Penthouse. Hmmm. I wonder if that will make their trading cards go up in value?

Wouldn't surprise me if Penthouse is closing shop. I think perverts get their fix on the internet now instead of from the 7-Eleven.

Yeah, I read a few issues of Spawn but it got lame. The Punisher is a lot different now. The violence is no joke. I read an issue where it was set a the dentist's offcie and the whole point of view was from inside a gangster's mouth and the Punisher was the dentist. (Oh, it was too brutal).

How could you forget Playboy?! Where else can you find a fold out picture of a naked chick, followed by an article on internet credit card fraud?!

Technically it would be the TV guide if you were referring to how frequent I read a magazine.

However, my favorite to read would be Rolling Stone.

When I was a kid I liked Hit Parader and Circus. How could I forget Mad and Cracked?

Fury

(and Colonel if you've been around here)

I have about 5000 comics, mosty Silver Age or later, some Golden Age. Disney classics, Marvel, DC, Image, and a few independents.

The 60s X-Men (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman) were better than the 1975 reinvention or anything since. They were edgy and Stan Lee's best creation. Especially the plotlines around the Sentinels and Sauron. Do you have any Neal Adams drawn X-Men?

Other 60s (Marvel) classics were Dr Strange and Avengers, also (sometimes) Spidey and the Steranko Captain Americas and SHIELDs.

I liked The Maxx and some of the Vertigo titles.

All I really bother with now is Viz (British underground toilet humor) and Cerebus... occasionally a Black Panther. After the "Ultimates" started coming out I realized just how illiterate the current market these things are pitched at is.

Always the 'dandruff of literature', once a lot of fun, now dumbed down beyond recognition.
