I think the US really has to become less paranoid and stop thinking that war with these nations is inevitable. If you treat a country like they are a threat than they will probably become one, since the unfair or bigoted treatment caused by this kind of thinking is bound to anger them. In the case of another world war you want to be on the side that has the most backing from other countries and not just have a few allies, no matter how powerful. So keeping your options open is always important because for all your know your closest enemy today maybe your enemy tomorrow. For example, Japan and Italy were allies of Britain in WW1 but in WW2 were part of the powerful tripartite alliance. In the next war Japan and Italy may well be allies... any country could be so it's best not to treat countries as enemies or unquestionable friends until they actually become enemies or allies in any major upcomming war.

i dont think its that good of an idea to mileritize japan either, i mean when amarica gave wepons to the middle east to defend itself their now using the same wepons against amarica. im not saying it would happen with japan but its still a possibility

and your ps question was just bad, the reason u give other nations stuff or aid shouldnt be because u want something back later in return but because u dont want people to suffer (or do u?)

i don not want people to suffer and i would be glad to give other nations aid. however they seem to stab us in the back sooner or later.

The sooner America realises that they are as vulnerable as everyone else the beter. America has more to fear from the rest of the world than we do from them. All countrys that throw their weight into other peoples buisnes for the own benifit are eventual brought down to Earth. If America thinks they are safe they only have to look to North Korea they and China have more nukes pointing at them than they do back. They realised that when Americas finnished with the middle east they will try to take out the next biggest threat

Yes, I agree. Lets make even bigger groups of unlike minded people, so that we can have even BIGGER wars!

That's what we do!

First of all; its debatable wether N Korea has a nuke at all; and its even more debatable wether N Korea has a rocket that can carry a nuke to USA...

So your plain wrong .
China 's Nuclear Arsenal is quite small in fact.

America has 500 times the nuclear weapons that China has.

Why dont you go look it up? I dont have the time to sorry i gtg to a friends house in a second; if you havent figured it out by the time i get back; ill be more than glad to find you links to the official information about national nuclear arsenals.

From last i remember ; China has no more than 300 nuclear weapons.
Maybe upwards to 500. But certainly nothing more than that.

USA has around 30,000 to 50,000 nuclear weapons. Im not sure on the actual number but, its really close to this.

30,000 nukes vs 300 nukes
whos going to win

alrite point made
im off to have a good weekend
i hope you do too

peace out

If the USA wants to remain a superpower the countries leaders need to
encourage democracy in Africa without throwing money down the toliet and double dealing with corrupt regimes. This will ensure a flow of natuarl resouces.

Come to the realization that America has more friends then enemys stop using your imagination to create enemys.
Realize that allies wont follow you blindly.
Realize that people are more important then tec when it comes to winning wars.
Dont fight anymore limted wars because they dont achive anything examples Vietnam and Gulf war 1.

Almost forgot the USA worst enemy is the USA.

if the usa has only 10,000 left

than we must have disabled 10,000 to 20,000 of them in the last 20 years?

im pretty sure i read some reports that said we had 30,000 or more
that was 15 years ago , however

perhaps our Govt has followed the SALT and SALT II treatys after all...
interesting indeed

Dear Uncle Sam,
It recently came to my attention that the U.S is at war with Terror. In all my years of travelling I've never come across that country.. Is it next to Syria or perhaps Iraq (n -optional)?
Know your war-
You are at war with Islam- Terror is one of their weapons.
It is NOT a religion of peace, tolerance, brotherhood, mercy or love.
It is NOT hindered with fair play, Geneva Convention, human rights, Press or Liberals(Democrats -optional).
It is NOT because of Israel, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq(n).
It simply IS because we are all infidels.
Know your enemy and choose your allies-
When choosing allies in your war - such as:
1) Saudi Arabia - 15 of 19 9/11 FASCIST/ISLAMIC TERRORISTS
2) Egypt - The other 4
3) Pakistan - Training centre, Ideology schools and Base Camp,
Opt for countries opposed to terror tactics and Islamic hatred of America such as India, Israel, Thailand, Phillipines perhaps.
yours sincerely... down under Indonesia somewhere

I really find it hard to understand why some members think that the US is going to stay no.1 economy when and if they have an energy breakthrough which i might add could happen in any industrial country.
I think the US is a great country and i want to live there someday but to think that the US is still ''a sleeping giant'' like it was in the 40s is utterly false, China and India have over 3 times the population and their economies are accerlerating rapidly......u do the math. It will always be a great country just not numero uno once the rest of the world gets on its feet.

The United States needs to do several things to stay a the One and only Super Power, even though there is one kid that is starting to be as big as us.

1. Cut aid to foreign countries that are producing results in half or take it all from them.
2. Spend more money on our economy, to ensure that our economy is sound.
3. Increase out going trade products which will produce more jobs and will strenghten the economy.
4. Economic espionage, everyone does it to us so why can't we steal back what they stole from us with a little extra to compensate for the time we went without our money.
5. Get a better plan setup for Social Security, and Well Fare. These Gov. help programs are being abused and its costing Hundreds of Millions of dollars to fund people who are just abusing it. Note I'm not saying take it away from those who need it, just the people who are abusing it.
6. Increase taxes for a short period of time so that we can straighten out our house and fix all that needs to be fixed before we start lowering taxes to get re-elected.

The question is, why the hell do we want to be the #1 superpower?

I think it's a lot more trouble than it's worth, and personally I don't need the virtual Viagra effect of being "Number One!11!!", thankfully.

If I did, I'd just buy the actual Viagra, it's be a lot cheaper than the tax bill for having the world's most unnecessarily huge military force.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the obvious question..although I think some of you were hinting at it

How many nukes would be needed to take out 80% or so of the US' infrastructure?

I don't think very many. Yes they have enough nukes to blow up earth ten times, but not many are needed to turn any country into a wasteland.
