Any pictures of the kid who was with them ? No, of course...

It's a shame to see an assassination hyped up like that by the US media. Political assassination is a war crime, and this could be prosecuted before the ICC .. Does anyone know who gave the orders to kill them ?

No, actually it won't be brought up as a warcrime because they died in a gun battle. Also, it is purported that Uday commited suicide while the battle was going on.

They are on Sky/BBC and Fox headlines today and the above links to CNN do work.

All pretty pure quality though.

Well, according to CNN yesterday three of the defendants died from rocket fire, which can be hardly be argued as being a defensive weapon in that setting. The surviving Uday probably commited suicide.

It was also reported that the were told to give up before a shot was fired. Then they fired upon US forces. Not a very smart move on their part. Warcrimes please.....
The two that needed to brought on warcrimes are dead. So much the better.

Regardless of whether they used rockets, it will not be brought as a war crime. shots were being fired at US soldiers, and they retaliated.

ugh, lets not forget the thickness of the walls, etc. Most areas of the second floor had wall thickness of 2-4 feet with reinforced concrete.

that they did find evidence of surgery that one of the brothers had (an artificial metal brace or something), after an assassination attempt....so it's looking more promising...but I'm still skeptical of the timing.... I do "feel" that they are truly telling the truth this time...but the skeptic in me still has a whiff of something not right...

Regardless, the US is better off with the sons and Saddam dead, it ends any controversy... otherwise we will have to decide what to do with him, excute or what have you... yada yada yada more reasons for countries to get mad at us.

I cant predict any court ruling, but this case may be defendable

What probably will be less defendable are the (official) assassination attempts of Hussein Senior.

While it can be argued that these people had records of their own that could bring them the death penalty in Texas, this alone isnt sufficient for ordering their murdering for two reasons :
-The state of Texas has no jurisdiction in Iraq,
-the killing of political and combat leaders, or regicide, is a warcrime regardless if they are evil monarchs or democratic paladins just because of the resulting havoc among their troops, which usually lead to many ugly deaths.

Warcrimes please.....
The two that needed to brought on warcrimes are dead. So much the better.

True, the two would have probably be jailed indefinitely by an independent tribunal for murder, abuse of power, etc...

but does that legitimate mob rule ? no it doesnt. It still needs an independent tribunal to investigate the case and condemn them. Why ? because a portion (be it small or large, who knows) of the accusations could turn out to be false or should i say "forged"
, and because of the stories they could have told about the accusators, sheding a new light on them.

That is what 'bringing them before justice' is all about.

Mokuhadzushi.
You're saying that they shouldn't have been killed.
But it was blatantly obvious that they weren't going to surrender.
This leaves only one option - Letting them go free.
Unless of course you have some miracle way of detaining them which wouldn't have harmed a hair on their bodies which nobody is aware of.

Well sorry dude. Reality doesn't work that way.
