Cool. When I first looked at it I thought maybe the object was on the hill in the background, but you can see that its not.

What else do you have to say to go along with this ?

Describe the sighting.

So did you see this thing flying around? Please do tell.

Let me give a run at it after a few lessons on photo analysis on another thread.

From the photo, I can tell there has been no Photoshop work done. Taken with a Canon PowerShot A70 camera. But the date is wrong, it was taken at 12:19 on April 2, 2005, but the date in the camera could be off a day or two. No focal length given, so I can't get a distance. Don't know where to go from here.

Do you have another photo of the same area, without the disc?

BTW, I like Idaho potatoes.

It appears to be a UAV, but of none that I am familiar with. I am interested in learning its flight dynamics aswell.

Could you please post a link to the original 2048 x 1536 pixel size image?

A description of what exactly took place would help too.

Looks like a water container on the mountain. Its kind hard to judge its actual distance though. More information would be nice.

Look at the dark spot of earth on the hill and then at the craft

you can see the dark spot go behind the craft.

i first thought it was on the ground too, but its hard to tell.

I suggest a picture be taken of the same location without the supposed UFO. It would give us a better idea of what we are looking at. After that is done people can make any assertions as to what it could be...

good idea.

An interesting photo indeed. I too would like to see the full res version if there is a larger size. Can you give us more information about this? Any other witnesses? You'd think other people would have seen it flying over the downtown area of your city.

Well you can say you see no evidence of Photoshop, but maybe an editor was used that doesn't stick it's name in the file? or the editor info was removed?

Focal length was given. You might want to download an exif viewer of some sort.

Looking at the sat view in google maps there are several round water/gas/oil tanks on the hills on the north side of the city.

Hummm no one noticed that the object has a chimney, and there seems to be some smoke coming out of it?

I played with the colors so you can see it better.

Not to mention the object is PERFECTLY level.

I do not live in Boise.........that was a weekend trip. This pic was taken whilst cruising the downtown area. I will take another pic of this site when I am there again, but I am not to sure WHEN that might happen. (I HOPE it happens whithin this year 2005)...................
I have been given a link to a high res pic hosting site (ty Nerdling)......and I will get it up on there and reposted asap.......(working on it)

I do see this 'chimney & smoke' in the above pic.....I wonder IF IF this is some kind of house???
Weird flippen house that goes away when your not looking......?

It was not moving when we saw this....it was SO strange I immediately took a pic, for I had the camera in my lap being we were on a little trip and seeing the sights. We were on a hilltop area and took this pic at an intersection. It did NOT seem to be moving really, just sitting there.......The road we were on then took us down a hill and back up to another hill and from the second viewpoint this 'saucer' looking thing was no longer in view......

At that point I was exited to return home and load up this pic and see it for myself. We headed back towards Utah not 20 minutes after taking this picture. A 6 hour drive back home however.......and 'other' junk gets in the way of me being able to just FOCUS on this photo, and it took me untill today to get it hosted so I could post it.

Well, yes, it is perfectly level, but if you look at the original pic, the ground of the hill just behind the object is not at all level...

Goddess, given your point of view on the object, can you estimate the distance at which the photo was taken and approximately tell the size of the disc? Are you positive it was not sitting on that hill but really hovering in the air, perfectly still?

The forst thing it looked like to me, was a building.

You see, there is this thing called a bulldozer.

I think I might of found something near downtown Boise.

Colors match
Chimney
There is a tall building, and a building with a red roof in the siteline of it.
The building might have a pyramid shape that would look like a disk from the side.
The 2 major colors might make it look totally different when you moved.

Hmm... nice find. Still difficult to tell really, but I think you may have found the thing...

I'm not sure about that Cug. I found where you're talking about:

maps.google.com... 3.622074,-116.188799&spn=0.004023,0.005075&t=k&hl=en

There is what appears to be a blue building with the angled roof, but the area doesn't seem dense enough (as far as buildings go). The viewing angle could work, if the picture was taken from that parking lot (?) that's just to the left of the blue building, but the original pic that theRiverGoddess posted has a lot more buildings laying around. Of course, there's no telling when the satellite snapped the pic, so those buildings in Goddess' pics could've been put up since then. They don't look that new, but still. Of course, I may be completely missing them somehow...

EDIT: The blue building I'm referring to is left-down off center of version I linked to. Also, it wouldn't make much sense for there to be power lines in the way from the parking lot or the balcony if that's an apartment. I wouldn't rule it out, but I can't see the logic in running lines like that from the sat. pic. Of course, since when has any city planner done anything logical?

Cug,

That really looks like a good candidate.
Nice find there!

I'll bet there are more pics out there..
