it only makes sense that a test of this new weapon is its effectivness of penetrating armor...which would lead right into the category of the depleted uranium rounds...yep why would we want to test that stuff in our back yard when we could sneak it over there and hopefully nobody would make a fuss...

they are using the du coated rounds for armor piercing because they melt their way through...

My guess is that it is not a small gun. I see it as an artillery or an anti-aircraft type of weapon. Just something that is really big. There is no way that this new technology could have already been compact enough to fit in a rifle sized weapon. If that was the case, then it could be tested in any warehouse, it wouldn't need some special firing range.
