Bush administration eliminating 19-year-old international terrorism report

WASHINGTON - The State Department decided to stop publishing an annual report on international terrorism after the government's top terrorism center concluded that there were more terrorist attacks in 2004 than in any year since 1985, the first year the publication covered.


Several U.S. officials defended the abrupt decision, saying the methodology the National Counterterrorism Center used to generate statistics for the report may have been faulty, such as the inclusion of incidents that may not have been terrorism.


Translation: everything this government does to counteract terror creates more terror.

According to Johnson and U.S. intelligence officials familiar with the issue, statistics that the National Counterterrorism Center provided to the State Department reported 625 "significant" terrorist attacks in 2004.

That compared with 175 such incidents in 2003, the highest number in two decades.

The statistics didn't include attacks on American troops in Iraq, which President Bush as recently as Tuesday called "a central front in the war on terror."

The intelligence officials requested anonymity because the information is classified and because, they said, they feared White House retribution. Johnson declined to say how he obtained the figures.

Another U.S. official, who also requested anonymity, said analysts from the counterterrorism center were especially careful in amassing and reviewing the data because of the political turmoil created by last year's errors.

So Bush's war on terrorism has resulted in an increase of terrorism?
Well I can't say I'm too surprised at these numbers.
Just imagine how much higher they'd be if they did count attacks on the troops in Iraq.

By eliminating this report as a result of its negative conclusions this clearly shows that the Bush administration is not serious about the so called War on Terror. Hiding the numbers on the problem they are allegedly tackling is tantamount to admission of failure.

The War on Terror is over folks. They lost (while winning at the true oil wars) and are now attempting to keep this fact away from the public they have been spoonfeeding this BS to for nearly four years.

By glossing over the fact that U.S. foreign policy creates terror, this shows that there will be no attempt to change U.S. foreign policy in an attempt to stem the increased terror that has emerged as a result of it. Utter failure.

Speaking of eliminating terrorism reports. What about Sandy (Burgler) Berger? Stealing reports out of the National Archive, to protect Clinton, and his lack of action in regards to terrorism. I still can't believe he just got a slap on the wrist and gets his top-secret clearence back in just 3 months.
