If we are directly attacked, then I support war, using any and all means necessary to get the job done. If that means annihilating a country before they capitulate, than so be it.

Remember, I said only if we are directly attacked. I didn't mean the Afganistan and Iraq skirmishes we are involved in right now.

I totally agree with that. That is what I was saying as well. I do not want to attack anyone, but agree with full blown retalliation if need attacked.

I love when people don't read what was posted, but read between the lines.

That's the point - ONLY if attacked. There would not be any Iraq or Afghan situations, as they would not have been attacked. DEFENDING is what I an Nathraq are saying. Read the posts......

Defend america from who?
The terrorists?
You cant fight terrorists with WMD, armoured divisions, battleships or millions of men.
Why?
Because terrorists dont fight conventionaly , they fight a physcological and physical war.
Why do you think the Psychological Operations Group was created?

Cargo, you don't like me because I believe the Bible is correct and I won't water it down and only take to heart the parts of it you don't mind?
Too bad.

Macuser, do you know why I do not like your thread starter? Because you didn't say a thing. It was a post by a new guy that barges in, doesn't stop and think and posts not information bot rhetoric.

That style of empty writing around here was chic right up to about January 2002, after which we settled back down.

Cheerleaders and pep rallies are not needed. Feel free to drag in some information, though. That is always needed!

I personally didn't detect any guts in this post, just meandering frustration with zero logic.

Back to the topic, when America gets hit again (and we will) and there are 22,000 dead on the streets....I promise you our missiles will fly.

Where?

The scream for vengence will reach the stars

Getting Biblical here, aren't we

and those birds will launch...then, and only then will our enemies realize that they have pulled the tail of the tiger once too often.

Well, Max posted one more content-free message. Oh well.

This thread is about using all of our resources against an enemy, to achieve victory. I support this only if we are directly attacked (eg. if we are invaded, or some rogue country lauches a missile at New York, etc.)

I did not mean Afganistan or Iraq, because those governments did not launch an offensive against the U.S.

But, if a country, any country is stupid enough to test our mettle, then I say "bring it". Americans are built tough. What the enemy won't see are the fat, over-indulgent troglodites, as Americans are potrayed around the world. What they will see are patriots; men and women of honor who have fought and died, and have never given up. (Remember the Alamo?) We have been tested since our conception as a nation. Many came to take what we fought hard to keep, or just to test us. Many nations have made this mistake in the past. Those same nations learned their lesson, the hard way.

I doubt it matters, as long as they can justify their revenge in their own minds anyways. I mean lob nuclear weapons? cmon please... chain-reaction. wonder just how many nukes are inside of a sub.

I wonder if it says somewhere in the bible... ah who really cares?

So you predict that in the event of attack (God Forbid) we are going to instantly shed all this extra weight, give up cable TV and double cheese burger with extra large Coke? Please clarify.

The US is indeed a sleeping giant. However, the real battles need to be fought on our soil!

Let's start with stopping the spread of diabetes, which is a silent killer and maimes scores of children and adults every year (look up the stats, they are growing). Let's figure out how to help the Hispanic population integrate in the English speaking society. Let's establish firmer border controls, the current ones are a joke.

Let's work on our education system, some schools don't have money to buy books and stationery. Knowledge is power. Are we number one yet in the education department? Until we are, please spare me the empty talk of launching nukes onto some unspecified enemy because it does sound sutpid.

And how about the medical care? Are we there yet? How come so many people go uninsured? What do we do about the personal bankrupcies? Children going to bed hungry?

Talking tough is easy and cheap. If you love America ,shut up, roll up your sleeves and get to work to make it a better place. Over and out.

Well, allow me to retort....

This is a thread about American military muscle, not the problems of our nation. That is off topic, and if you start a thread about that, I will be more than happy to post there.

You talk about trying to help the Latino (Hispanic is so passe, unless you're from Kentucky) population. How about, letting them help themselves. Come here legally, no problem. You are all welcome. If you are illegal, then you should be deported. stop printing signs, drivers liscence tests, and voting rules in English/Spanish. There is no official languange in America, but English is the common language. Stop catering to a segment of society that needs no catering. Millions come here every year, and try to learn the language. For Latinos, that seems to be a major hurdle.

We need a medical overhaul in the U.S. That is true. No one should go to bed hungry, or be without medical insurance. There should be no budget cuts in schools; this is just plain wrong.

To end, I agree with much you said, but not all. We can the military budget, won't bother me one bit. Bring all the boys home. No problem. But, to stay on topic, and to quote Mr. T.........( I pity the fool.......)

Quite surprisingly I'd agree with you, if any nation attacked another nation war would be the only possible outcome really, however I can't see any nation on earth actually coming out and straight attacking America, it would be suicide, mainly because no other nation would have the ability to actually get to America in any sort of strength.

Agreed - by the way great signature! The purpose of this thread was to simply say that America DOES need to take care of her own. It's not about flexing muscles, or throwing around nukes. It is about taking care of our own citizens first, then if anything is left, the rest of the world.
That being said - as I stated in my opening IF ATTACKED - use whatever force necessary.
And Thomas Crowne, if you don't like my thread, then diplomatically say something - not bash ones character.

i have my doubts about the "war on terror"

to me; it seems quite fishy

one could easily speculate that Osama works for the CIA and they created terrorism as a form of Controlling the masses...

but ya; if terrorism is real; and the US govt actually has nothing to do with it; than the terrorists are a true threat; and certainly the USA will blow them to bits; i have few doubts to that

the USA can rip any rag tag terrorists to shreds any day of the week
thats why i speculate that its a CIA psychological operation...

because truely america would have defeated terrorists by now;
and Osama would be dead by now too

i DONT believe america sucks; so them taking this long to find Osama is almost proof to me that its a Inside CIA job...

Amen.

I think that any nation that is attacked has a right to respond in any way they please. They can use self-defence retaliatory strikes if necessary.

I think today such a scenario of the USA using everything it has in retaliation will not be feasible. It would be more of a strategic operation, not using any weapon that will have wide ranging devastating effects.

Globalization is more of a threat to any nation today 'cause it dissolves borders. Ever read of foreign troops being on American soil? I have. I wonder why America would have foreign troops on it's soil. Stuff like this I read from those Patriot websites.

I see a future more in the direction of attacks happening from frustrated citizens of the population, than any nation attacking another. Computer games depict these scenarios where you have rebel citizens gathering strength against the tyranny of the nation.

Anyway, Globalization is a powerful force.

If you can say that, wouldn't it be just as fair to say that if your wish comes true, I hope you and/or your family are there to meet them when they attack the U.S.? Yes, let's try thinking about what you are suggesting with familiar names and faces attached. Still like your idea?

Just some questions, and not necessarily wishes on my part.
