>>>THE FBI lost a chance to uncover the September 11 plot by failing to investigate evidence that two of the suicide hijackers were living with a bureau informant, a congressional inquiry is expected to report this week.

The study also contains new evidence suggesting that a Saudi Arabian government agent may have been a key associate of the al Qaeda attackers, according to Newsweek magazine.

The long-delayed conclusions of the 900-page report, to be released on Thursday, raises new concerns about the FBI missing critical clues on 9-11 and raises questions about whether Saudi officials were secretly monitoring the hijackers or even facilitating their conduct.

One US congressman involved in the probe told the magazine the findings were "a scathing indictment of the FBI as an agency that doesn't have a clue about terrorism".<<<

this doesnt surprise me. the agencies STILL do not fully communicate with each other. they are overrun with bureaucrats and pencil pushers that make sure every little paper clip is accounted for and everyone receives "sensitivity" training is given more priority than actually finding and punishing bad guys.

as long as the powers that be run the government (from the congress to the white house) we will never really be free of this BS to let the agencies do what they were designed to do.

im not surprised by this at all. the government has been given hot intel before and sat on it without acting. need an example? mogudishu.

when these agencies DO get good credible intel what happens? they have have meetings and conferences about it but rather than saying "act on it ASAP" and accepting the consquences if anything goes wrong later they want to fully plan crap out and talk about what they should do and by the time they decide to act the intel is old stale and thats when bad things happen that shouldnt happen.

why do they act this way? two words, career track.

if they gave the go ahead to do something and later found out they were wrong it would ruin their career.

basically what this means is they are tying one hand behind their backs at the expense of having a good career folder.

nice to know the people in charge think and act this way isnt it?

sure gives me that fuzzy feeling deep down inside that makes me want to vomit in disgust over this.

I would go with the latter. In the 93 wtc bombing the FBI had their fingerprints all over that crime.

Wake up america.

It was brilliant to use war game exercises to shadow and hide the real attack.

Unsuspecting good workers at norad were duped into believing they were all involved in training exercises.

Nice trick.
