That is so true, but if the process can be done for lets say $50 a barrel, then you can bet it will be done.

I think the tar sand cost is now around $18-20, and look at it go....just check the stock of those companies.

For the moment it seems that all extraction processes require water. How would we get this water? Currently we are struggling to keep water pumps going just to ensure a stable natural gas supply.

It seems that extracting that oil from shale and sand needs a different method. We simply cannot spare the water at the moment.
