Now if you have 30 or more body mass index you could be a candidate by your insurance to have surgery, and they may cover it.

Some states are working to may posible that health insurance can covert obesity related surgery.



The standard surgery, which can cost between $20,000 and $35,000, involves using staples to separate a small pouch at the stomach's top from the rest of the stomach, greatly limiting the amount of food that can be eaten. The procedure also involves bypassing much of the small intestine so that less food is absorbed into the body.



While some state are working on this other states like Alabam and Florida has stop paying for this type of surgeries.
