Market share? For fast food?

Find a more recent version of this article, or simply download the shareholder PDF's off the corporate site.

Alternately you might need the industry code to get the official relative count from a Dun & Bradstreet type list source.

As of 1998, McD's held 42% of US fast food burger market (serving less than one percent of global population), but alot has changed.

I think Burger King is moving up fast. You'll need to check. Sorry.

It's not so much that (though I'm reluctant to disagree).

The answer is just always 42.

For every question, there is an easily determined context in which the answer can always be readily known.

How empty is the Universe?
ibs.howstuffworks.com...

... 0.0000000000000000000042 percent of the universe contains any matter.

Just remember "42" and half as many zeros (21) then in that example. Brilliant!

It's converting that discovery then back into the proper context of the orginal question that wins at bar trivia.

Also, years of playing with the parameters of the D&B SIC database helps.

I know. There's something wrong with me.
