i had my computer regular and i went to a hockey game. when i got back (im running XP) it was the black screen you get after a while. i tried to bring the desktop back up but it stayed black. i shut it down by hand by pressing the button. i then brought it back and it was all in 4 bit color instead of 32 or 64 i cant remember the setting i had. it wont let me change back i did system restore and tried everything i know

Right Click on a blank area of the desktop -->
Select Properties -->
Select Settings (the top right tab) -->



use the "quality color" dropdown list to change your setting. (generally 32 bit)



If it wont let you, choose advanced, and point it to the right adapter, or reload the adapter drivers.

Select OK at the prompt
Select OK when the screen refresh's if it appears to be the setting you want.
