You are right in a sense. The 1970s peak was a real peak. In the mid 1970s US oil production peaked and has been in decline ever since, so we had to
get involved in the middle east.
Eventually there will be a global peak and we will adjust to Uranium. Then there will be a uranium peak and we'll have to adjust again based on our
technology of the time.
The global oil peak will not throw us into the stone ages like many people say, but there will be just as much, if not much more, upheaval than there
was in the peak of the 1970s.
As for the tuna, they are probably stuck with us humans for longer than they'd like. We have our ups and downs but tend to hang around awhile.
