Simple but important question. Does North Korea possess nuclear weapons? Explain your reasons why you believe they do or do not. Also, if NK does possess nuclear weapons, how far do you think their weapons could reach?

like i said of they posses nukes, and have been making them for years? Waht will we'll do if they have a nuke in thier hands? Our security will be invulnerable. we'll be open for attacks y haven't we done something in the past to try to prevent n.korea in making these wmd? My believe is that we won't attack korea and/or Korea won't use'em, they are probaly gonna sell it to the highest bidder. but we will be in a conflict with them, but it will be vocal not dealing with troops or any force, like another cold war

They've ben selling them to just about every o#ry in the world.

I doubt they'll nuke anyone because their entire country could be wiped off the globe in a matter of minutes maknid South Korea an island.

If terrorists had nukes then they'd probably nuke Israel, Europe or the US.

If Bush attacks N. Korea without UN support, he's gonna get completly jacked up. Iraq didn't have nukes, N. Korea does. His attack will be seen as an act of war, not liberation, or insuring the continuation of freedom.

Even though the UN really has no power, the US needs there support after that whole Iraq thing.

I didn't say they were more of a threat than China, Russia et al. I said more of a threat the Iraq. There are bigger threats to the US, many of which no one ever really thinks of as threats anymore (some of which I may get shot over if I disclosed too much info). However, they are a real threat. Not a made up threat like Iraq.

I don't disagree w/ u Psycho, but the thing is it would not be smart to go to war with'em iether, we would not have a chance, already they probaly have many nukes by now and sold them to terrorist.

Because China is smarter than NK. They will not start a nuclear war they know will loose.

War would be a bad idea as it would lead to nukes. Then you could pretty much kiss your "keester" goodbye. We do need to step in (with the aid of other countries : China, UK, Russia, Japan etc.......... not neccessarily UN) and get things straightened up BEFORE NK decides to pull something stupid.


On another note, necro and falcon, I agree with both of you. China right now is too smart to pull anything dumb, but yes, they may be lying dormant. However, trust me on this as I cannot prove it, but Russia is still, and will remain for a long time, to be a MUCH bigger threat than China.

I agree w/ u totally, and BTW i didnot try to put words in ur mouth by saying 'it would not be smart to go to war against NK' i was stating a possiblity and a bad outcome.

So yes it would not be smart but we should also think about china, our total focus is in NK, what about china? Would they hit us from behind when our security is vulnerable? It's a more immediate threat, as Kim is loony toons....but not a bigger threat.

Yes, I think they have nukes. Probably started with some Russian and/or Chinese surplus, then back-engineered their own designs. Not ICBM though. Shorter range missiles though yes.... If deployed though, we'd be forced to publicly reveal some of our most covert weaponry and counter-measures....and the scope of our failure to comply with numerous treaties would be out in the open, so we likely wouldn't use such counter-measures until after a successful strike on US forces. Even then though, our response would use conventional, not nuclear weapons, as it would automatically make us the "good guys" in the conflict, and thus, ensure world support. Of course, the Bush administration doesn't seem to care one iota about world support, so who knows...???

But I don't think china would pull too much even while we were busy with NK, just because we could clean them up easy enough unless they had the right people backing them.

In fact many years ago, China said attacking the US would be suicude, because too many american citizens own guns.

Yes, but who hasn't been a dealer? France, Russia, China, the US, Britain. We are all dealing either weapons, money, or equipment (which inturn buys and build weapons) to anyone that doesn't have it. Now, what most of us here are lucky enough to realize, is that this is actually a big farce. Most people either don't realize, or don't care. But the fact is, keeping the money weapons and equipment moving from the big guys (France, Russia, China, the US, Britain) keeps the little guys looking like a threat. Then, we go in bomb them screw up their economy, and our leaders look good. I think finally more people are catching on to this now, because GWB and Tony Blair are hurntin in the polls right now.
