I have watched wrestlin' from the local stuff in the very late 50's. Went to live events for years in the 60's and 70's. Even met Harley Race and Bob Orton back in their youth.

All my kids are wrestling nuts and my wife thinks it's all fake. Imagine that, 30+ years of wrestling exposure and she "thinks" it fake....

Well, I'll never know what this guys intentions were because it was like three years ago and he's banned.

Regardless, yeah they're real people. Yes, the stuff they do is most of the time pre determined and done in ways where it doesn't do a whole lot of damage. Yes, the things they do in ring take a good amount of athletics and yes they do hurt. Take it from me, before I joined the Corps, I was training to be a pro wrestler. But now between the Corps and trying to get my schooling in to be an oncologist, well, I don't have time to train anymore.

And chair shots hurt like hell.

Wrestling is pure entertainment, with athleticism thrown in. These men are professional stuntmen. What they do could serious injure or even kill someone if they did not know how to fall just right. One wrong move, and a person could be paralyzed for life.
I do believe it is scripted, but it is real in the sense that any one of us here would be put in a hospital if we tried any of the moves out there.
If you don't like it, you can always turn the channel and watch two groups of grown men throw around a ball.
