They struck after dark, targeting an outbuilding with a car bomb and following up with another bomb, gunfire and grenades, US officials said.

This seems to be a turn-around in tactics for the Iraqi insurgents, attacking a hardened target and engaging in a prolonged battle with a clear
objective.
If it's an indication that the miltants are becoming more organized, it will begin to cause more headaches for the coallition forces in Iraq.
