Again, the "cost" of the war is being held as reason to give up.
This is nothing new, it was one of the weapons used against Reagan during his 8 years of chipping away at the Soviet threat. Today, after the Cold War has been won and many don't recall history, the books are being rewritten and those who were either too cowardly to fight the Soviet threat or were actually sympathetic to their cause, are taking credit for what they had no part. This will be the same thing.

Yeah, what's the problem with the Iraq/Osama connection? That was reported months ago, and it wasn't even our intellegience but European. French, I think.

VERY VERY (full-lip V) good point, TC. The intel DID come from the FRENCH>

In my previous response to this thread, intitled "the sum of all lies" you can find this link invented by Richard Perle. There is also a link to the story. I doubt the OSP has special links to french intelligence. If you need foreign scapegoats, go wait for what the FBI comes up with in its investigation of the Niger documents, or check out www.guardian.co.uk...

Is that really the cost of the war? Or is it just some kind of guesstimation as to how much it costs?

Raising a host of a hundred thousand men and engaging them in
war entails heavy loss on the people and a drain on the resources. The daily
expenditure will amount to a thousand ounces of silver.
