Ok, have a worst song, so will have a best song. But this will be dif. you have to explain why it is good/the best. Not "I like this song because I do." But say... "I like Smoke on the Water because that guitar solo is incredible, and almost anyone can identify it just from hearing the first few notes."

Or me, I like techno songs because people want something with a booming beat and they usually choose rap for the beat. But with techno you get a even better beat to make your car and every car in a 10 foot range shake, and it is more then "# damn #, rape women, damn ho bitch, do coc aine, # damn #, rape the jews, bastard cock whore, kill people."

But for song, have to go with American Pie by Don McClean. It is insightful, the lyrics are good, and if you learn about what each verse means you will be amazed.

I think the best song for me has to be *Drift away* by ottis reding.

Its just a chilled, soul thinking song,

Never get tired of hearing it

Why Stairway to Heaven?

Also, why no like American Pie? It is a great, inspirational song, especially when you know what the lyrics mean/represent.

The song WAR!

The lyrics should be heard of anyone even considering to join an army...

Old song, but eternally true...
War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

I'll have to go with Stairway To Heaven as well.

Not the sorta wimpy first version though, but the live version from the soundtrack of the movie, The Song Remains The Same.

I'm just have to throw a little country in here.

Garth Brooks- The Dance

The lyrics are so true and you can really feel the emotion coming through his voice.

Backstreet Boys- Black and Blue(Japan Version)/ Princess Diaries Soundtrack- "What Makes You Different(Makes You Beautiful)".
I know, I know, I'm a sucker. But when they sang that on their last tour, oh, oh-god, oh-man, I was like almost in Heaven with all the books in the world and all the choclate I could eat and not a gain a pound happy. It's such a sweet song. And their record company screws US fans, like it does with all their artists(even lied to AJ about the "Mellineum Digital Copyright Act" and the whole "Illegal Download" thing, and then they showed it on MTV NEWS when he was touring as "Johnny No Name" for charity(and he got arrested then for "Public Drunkness" that late March?, I think he has more problems than I wanna know about, so that's why I wish they would tell the public.). DOWN WITH JIVE RECORDS! DOWN!

Yeah, stairway to heaven is wicked. I just get this feeling whenever I listen to the song...... it's almost heavenly, or spiritual. Stairway to heaven is and probably will always be the best rock song ever. Especially if everything musical will be corporate owned crap for the rest of humanity......

Excellant song, but I prefer the River by him. He shouldn't be overlooked, though...

O ya the River is great too.

My favorite current country artist is Pat Green. He songs are all very deep and spiritual. Just listen to Wave on Wave, Don't Break My Heart Again, A Guy Like Me or some of his older stuff and you'll know what I mean.

Not familiar with him, but I don't listen to that much Country...

RogueX, COOL BUNNY!!!!!

Anyways, country? making out with relatives with missing teeth..... I don't know if that is music.(kidding, you have some great country songs out there)

Another great song to me is Big Bad John Parts 1&2. Done by Jimmy Dean of the Jimmy Dean Sausage Company. Great story in it about Big John and his Cajun Queen(second part).
