Bush has nominated the vice pResident's son-in-law, Philip J. Perry, as general counsel of the Homeland Security Department, where he would oversee 1,500 lawyers who work on legal matters like Coast Guard maritime laws and immigration. Mr. Perry, who is married to Elizabeth Cheney, is leaving the Washington office of the Latham & Watkins law firm, where he was a partner, as well as a lobbyist for Lockheed Martin, one of the top 10 contractors for the Homeland Security Department.

Nothing to see here? Move along?
Maybe when they start claiming Right of First Night then folks will look to, at the minimum, ask for some Vaseline first.

This is just crazy. How has investigations and law suits not been started yet? The corruption in this administration is so apparent and in our faces. Yet nothing is done.

People are sent to prison for mere fractions of whats alledged alone agains Dick and Dubya, let alone actually proven.

But nobody does anything! Billy got a "favor" or two from an inturn and the whole country nearly stopped. Millions of dollars were spent in litigation over it for petes sake. How does Dubya do it? He made of teflon?

Please, somebody get a spine and send these guys to prison!!

Primae Nocta was added to the Constitution by the Patriot Act. Vaseline can be used if there is time for lubrication.

Thank Beejeebus that they have a taste for Man meat first!

Karl Rove gets all a tither everytime he has to call the VP...."Dick, O Dicky baby....!!!"
Condi "Ain't got a man - Don't want one" Rice is the only one the ladies have to watch out for!

But Seriously.........

I can stomach the appointment, if transparency were mandated in the bid process's selection rationale, but it's not.

It's called nepotism and I don't believe there is anything illegal about it. Sure, it reflects poor judgement, but I do not see where it is illegal.
